Yeah, I mean at the end of the day Virginia Tech is first and foremost an educational institution. I have no problem with the BOV and school president prioritizing academics over athletics. That is their job and I would have a huge problem with VT diverting academic resources to athletics.

I know there are some people who would take a national championship in football at the cost of academics, I wouldn't. And frankly, say what you will about Stanford, but they are proof that you can be successful in both academics and athletics. I would love for Tech to be great at both, but if we can only be good at one, then it should be academics.

God time?, (sorry, I couldn't resist) I'll admit to not caring for the game, but if it's the Hokies, I'm in. I've had more than one soccer fan tell me that I just don't know enough about the game to appreciate it, but as soon as their kid is older and they no longer have to go to the games, their interest in soccer seems to evaporate. Sorry, but the game bores me more than a 1-0 fourteen inning baseball game, but I'm very happy to see the ladies doing so well and if I can get the game on tv I'll be watching and cheering for the one or two scores and stops at the goal.
Now cue the calls for my head from the footie contingent...

Pry and the rest of the coaching staff have an incredible ability to find new ways of losing every week. Wells was also clearly hurt towards the end of the first half, they kept playing him and took way too long to make the switch to Drones.

0-0 at half

Don't have stats but just from my eye:
Hokies have been content with possession over position. Lot's of passing backwards and not too aggressive

UCLA been getting away with a lot of contact. Refs swallowing a decent amount of whistles but still like 7-2 fouls against the hokies. Lots of pushing from behind by the bruins that aren't getting called

Believe UCLA has outshot us by a decent margin, but nothing super threatening. Hokies had the only real major threat on goal of the whole half.

Think they need to be a bit more aggressive near the bruins goal if they want to take it. Easily could be first goal takes this

Anyone have a good place to park for the game?

So much for Tennessee vs Baylor being a good game....

Tennessee up 57-32 right now.

They scored more points within 60 minutes than we did.

Even if it's not point shaving, you can always reduce your point total to be under. If VT is 20 point underdogs to every ACC team this year, he can work to lose by 21+.

I don't see any scenario in which your team is better with someone intentionally playing worse than projected.

I know it was a year ago and the rosters are modestly different, but how exactly the hell did we lose to Purdue?
