You got me to wondering how many other schools have their bands behind the hoop. I feel like I've seen that at other college games as well.

Fuente wasn't a bad recruiter had some decently-graded recruiting classes. He just couldn't:
a) hold on to those top-level recruits, and
b) fill the positions we desperately needed, and
c) hold on to the top position coaches he manage to attract long enough for them to have an impact
Yeah, he was 13-1 last year. Not sure what all happened this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was over 10 wins again next year.
Regarding recruiting, I think even Fuente could get 5 stars at FSU.
I wondered when I saw this if it might be related to getting out because there was negative sentiment related to her dad and hoped it might foreshadow him being let go.

Right, what "the people" think/want is irrelevant. All that matters is what the chosen few in power think. Kind of like literally everything else in the world. Why should college football be any different?
People blame her dad for everything wrong with VT athletics, so she suffers by association.
John is a dinosaur and has been with VT football for 37 years. He underminded Fuente daily and likley does the same to Pry. he won't retire it seems.

I've been feeling this too. I think Indiana is a good team, but OSU is stacked, and will be looking to prove a point.

There's a lot to unpack, but the basic issue is they are felt to be a major reason why VT Athletics seems to be increasingly out-of-touch and repeatedly inept in decision-making.
There was also a "minor issue" of John actively undermining Fuente during his time here. Somehow Whit feigned ignorance of all this and didn't see this as a reason for termination.
Its hard to overstate just how incredibly favorable IU's schedule has been. Of the Top-8 teams in B1G standings, they have played exactly 1 --Washington...who is number 8.
I think they will equate themselves reasonably well vs. OSU but I think the Buckeyes win convincingly.

You don't need 13, lots of teams make runs with 1 guy and a bunch of nobodies. Cuse won a title with two really good players and decent role players.
