This is quite the thread. I look at it from a different perspective as I am old and was at VT in the Bobby Hussey years. So, never in my wildest expectations did I ever expect VT to win an ACC Championship. So, for me, I don't have the expectation, based on the support currently available to the Men's team is to do anything more than finish 6-12 every year in the league.

Right now, the focus should be on football. This will be detrimental to basketball. The goal would be to get football humming and lift the tide of all boats. If that means MY is a steward for the program and doesn't do anything to embarrass the university or crater the program aka Ricky Stokes then I'm ok with that.

Travis Beals has pulled out of Elim in second and Paige moved back into 3rd on her run last night. Standings are:

I would think that is a low pitch, ball, but in real time and later in the game when the strike zone tends to get a little bigger, I see how that gets called a strike.

Interview with her in Koyuk and she noted that the trail from Shaktoolik was slow with sticky snow. Team was moving slow because of it. Her plan is to go to Elim and rest there instead of trying to push straight through from Koyuk to White Mountain without a substantial rest. Said the dogs are eating well, but she did have to drop 1 of her leaders who just didn't seem to want to lead anymore.

Interview with Travis Beals in Koyuk too. His mother passed away recently and has been tough on him. Had to leave the interview after getting emotional when Bruce Lee played him a recorded message from his wife and son. Prior to that he expressed frustration with position in 2nd. Feels he had a team to win this year and if they were not nearing the end, could catch Jessie, but feels he will just run out of time.
