Don't be absurd.
Olives are terrible everywhere, not just pizza.
Previous game was against Canada Friday night. We got their number, it seems.
And we beat them in the WBC Friday night!

And if the Hokies had waited to announce at the same time as those other teams there wouldn't have been as large a negative reaction.
It was the ineptitude of basic social media management by putting it out when they did that just shows how dysfunctional our program is in general.
I still would have been pissed if it came today but nationally it would not have been such a media disaster because it would have been lost in the noise, especially if it came after other teams had also declined.
Olives are as horrible on pizza as pineapple is awesome. #TeamPineappleOnPizza
The problem though is how they are losing. Even if they manage .500 in ACC play, if they give up 10+ in almost every loss, the metric impact means they wont be a fringe NCAA Tournament candidate. It also hurts that they didnt build up wins in OOC. They basically were .500 in OOC because of who they decided to play.
The Hokies ERA is currently above 8. Its the second worst team ERA in the P4. They are like 260th of 300 D1 teams.

Decent take on the landscape of Basketball in 2026. Not even close to what it was 5 or 10 years ago.
TLDR: Coaching/staff changes, portal, player retention, player "showcasing" (or lack thereof), NIL money/market values...
And very low return for the expenses. Teams cover the cost of hosting early round games, and make very little on games from the NIT for playing (I've seen like $4k per game...woof.)
They already killed the CBI this year at the last minute.
And there is the College Basketball Crown Tournament the first week of April in Vegas.
I foresee the NIT going away soon, or drastically altering it's format to a 16 team thing all at one location within a few seasons. It's taken a hit with the teams opting out this year and that's not going to slow down.
The extra week of practice idea is a farce. With the portal there's a good chance that 30-50% of the roster come September on opening weekend are not present in December for the practice. Between those leaving and new arrivals, plus grads/draft entries, what are you practicing for?
And the guys "liking" it...if they did, they wouldn't opt out. Going to play in Boise in December is NOT a reward for a good season.
The $EC and B1G are in DC working on how to remove football and basketball from Title IX. Look for them to announce their own 32 team "league" with collective bargaining soon. They can be removed from the "amateur" framework to not impact women's sports and how Title IX has been put in place and functioning.
If it was the SEC, we'd be getting votes in the rankings for this weekend.

Close behind and also resting on the trail is Kevin Hansen in 18th place, resting on the trail with 14 dogs, 676 miles in/299 to Nome. Next rookie is Jesse Terry in 22nd place, resting on the trail with 10 dogs, 658 miles in/317 to Nome.
I used to feel the same way about bowl games. As a fan, I don't care about the Bob's Bait & Tackle Nothing Bowl in Nowhere, USA. But I've come around for two reasons: it's an extra month of practice (valuable, given NCAA limitations), and the guys like it. So even though I'll only watch maybe 10-15 of the 40 bowl games in any given year, I no longer disapprove of their very existence.
Seems like a "team" struggling as much as ours could use the extra time to improve.
Either way, though... posting it publicly like this? Oof.

Monday morning, March 16 at ~8:30 AM east coast/4:30 AM Alaska.
Jessie Holmes is on his way across the Norton Sound sea ice to Koyuk. Travis Beals has established himself as the clear #2. Mille Porsild and Wade Marrs have also closed up the gap with Paige. Hoping she can stay in the top 5, which would be pretty impressive given the strong field and that she had not been able to do much mushing the past few months with her breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.

2-4 vs a couple top 15 teams on the road... not ideal but it gives you opportunity to make a run at +.500 in league play
Get some sponsors and use the players NIL in thr tourney and make it a destination or get rid of it.
Movement she gets in the low 70's is just crazy- she just needs to be close to the zone. Her stuff looks like softball version of Norm Charlton (low 90's slider/ cutter)
It is and makes it hard for dogs to breath just sitting still. There's a really effective vaccine kinda surprised theses dogs wouldn't have the vaccine
You're technically correct.
But it is a terrible look issuing a statement like this before your conference's championship tournament has even finished. At least wait for the invitation to be extended first. Doing it when they did it made them look like a bunch of soft, presumptuous quitters.
CMY's been losing most of his players every year anyway.
