Of course this is more speculation since 1) we have no confirmation that it changes the money that the ACC will receive and 2) even if it's true, there's still plenty of time between now and 2019 for something else to happen and 3) the circumstantial evidence points to something else afoot.

But keep trying, since there must be plenty of actions and decisions taken over the last 12 years - which had they been handled differently - would have put the ACC in an appreciably stronger position for now and for the future.

The divisions should be set up to the benefit of the better programs. The ACC should have divisions that promote all of the following, without compromise: FSU, Clemson, Miami, VT, and possibly GT. In football, those are the programs that will drive revenue for this conference. If you set up the divisions to have the division races in most years come down to the winner of FSU-Clemson and VT-Miami with both being ranked matchups, you're actively setting yourselves up for future success.

So yes, in a way the divisional alignment should cater to and satisfy VT... as well as a couple others.

they were a special promotion which ran through the summer and if you subscribed to VT Athletics through Twitter, you got their posts as to when you could win them. for instance, they'd post a random tweet and the first 50 re-tweets got one mailed to them.

the second option was to go to your local First Union Bank during a designated week and an employee would give you one upon request. that's how i got mine.

the third way was through meet and greets throughout the state (and Charlotte) amongst alumni or Hokie Club meetings. at this point, i'm assuming the supply of magnets on campus are gone and what's left are probably in the hands of organizers of alum get-togethers/Hokie Club events.

if you really want one, i have a spare one for you. just PM me through walterv1@vt.edu

EDIT: it was mentioned below that the ticket office at Lane was handing these out, too

Brady Quinn should stick to what he knows

* Trying to maintain composure while sitting in the green room waiting to here his name called on draft day in a super awkward moment
* making myoplex commercials before ever starting an NFL game
* Not being good enough to start for the Cleveland Browns

Yep, I think the 11am or 2pm tracks on Tuesday from the national services had it going right over Raleigh. Its been bending into this predicted loop ever since.

Fair enough but I strongly disagreed with that forecast never thought itd come that far inland that said the guys and gals at noaa know their stuff

Look, I'm going by exactly what I'm seeing from NWS and Weather.com and they're showing the outer edge of the storm skirting close to Raleigh. From experience on having lived through these storms numerous times over the years having lived here my whole life, those models account for where they expect the outer rain bands to reach. Sure, they could go further out, but they could also retract closer to the eye. But I've also known these models to tend to err towards being more cautious and predicting it to be on the worse side of the averages they're seeing to encourage the people in the affected areas to be more cautious and properly prepared.

I'm preparing for rain this weekend. But I'm not expecting it to be 2003 Texas A&M or 2009 Miami levels of bad during the game.

As a professional weather guy, maybe you could answer a question that I've had for awhile.,

When forecasting wind/rain impacts from hurricanes, does the NHC/NOAA tend to err on the side of worst case scenario since 2005/Katrina?

I think it hovers offshore but doesn't make landfall and not close enough in proximity to really do damage. Might get some outflow and some rain but not a lot

well I do think that being the first ever game in that system for every single player on the field might have had something to do with it...a lot of coaches say that their teams improve the most from week 1-2 but I think ours improved the most from 2-3. 19th percentile vs Liberty, then a jump of 24 percentiles to 43 against Tenn and then a huge leap to 95th vs BC before settling at 88 against ECU. I would imagine that we can expect roughly 80th percentile for most of the remaining games we have. I chalk up the lower percentiles in the early going to growing pains.

I'll be honest, I expected this team to struggle with growing pains and inconsistencies but manage to improve over the course of the year....I have been blown away by how good our offense has looked after the Tenn game. And actually, watching it live, I thought our offense looked pretty dang dangerous against Tenn, if it weren't for some bad mistakes (penalties, fumbles). This offense is way further ahead of where I expected it to be but for some reason I just can't bring myself back down to earth...I'm expecting this offense to be absolutely dominating teams come November.

Eye over Raleigh? Where are you getting this from dude? I never once said that... two days ago it was getting pushed out to the Atlantic
