If Auburn shitcans Malzahn, which they shouldn't, then yeah - the UNC job is a consideration of Auburn's ousted coaches.
As an opposing fan, if Larry leaves I definitely want them to promote Chizik over bringing in Malzahn. This would be Gene's third stint. I do not want to face off with Malzahn every season, I think he is a far better coach than Gene/Larry. I doubt Chizik sticks around past this season if anyone else gets that job over him however.
At this point, a lack of other qualified candidates. But a year ago, nobody was talking about Herman, Fuente, Babers....even Richt and Mendenhall weren't expected to be part of the pool.
My understand was that LSU kept Les because Jimbo got cold feet at the last second. His divorce may have had something to do with that.
Mullen from Miss St is a PA guy.
Danny Coale caught the ball
Went last week for 3 days to Nags Head. Got some great intel from French and IfishVTIam (Thanks guys!!). Had fun, caught fish, but no big reports. The three fishermen caught several juvenile reds (one in the slot), several small speckled trout, some blues and some Spanish Mackerel (one was several pounds). We fished a groin on the beach which was pretty productive the first day and then the other guys I was with fished the Avalon Pier for a couple days after I left.
Surfed some as well. A nice 2 - 4 ft SE ground swell was evident all week. Weather was great, water was 75 - 77 degrees (as french stated, a bit warm for the big fish), and the drinks flowed easily. We went to Oneill's in Wanchese and added more redfish and sheephead filets to our catch and blackened them (so there was enough for everyone) - it was incredibly good.
Good times had by all.
Whitt is the key! As long as he keeps them happy, I can see CJF here for the long run. Buzz may leave if there is an opening near his home town. But they both seem to like Whitt and Whitt doesn't hold back money on coaches or amenities, which is a huge plus.
So just saw the latest potential models and one of them has Matthew making landfall Sat directly into Myrtle Beach FML.
The sips were also rumored to be willing to pay Saban $10M+/year. Not that they'll give Herman that much, but it goes to show how much money they have to work with. They can outspend anyone they choose to, including U$C, ND, and F$U. I don't know whether UTw, LSU, or F$U makes more sense for him, but I just don't see him staying at Houston long-term.
That said, Texas isn't going anywhere without Houston:
Big 12 expansion is a non-starter unless it includes University of Houston. @UHouston https://t.co/AnHB4dIGncβ Greg Abbott (@GregAbbott_TX) July 21, 2016
... because he's not being suggested as on his way to Blacksburg, that's why.
I'd say you could crash at our old place, but it's currently on the market and has nothing in it.
Doubtful... They want Herman bad!
Agreed. This was a bizarre hire. Their AD isn't too good at coaching searches though.
Don't forget Penn State in that mix.
Tickets cost a lot more than UNC/Duke. (not saying that's the reason)
Since we already played OSU, we can be friendly with Urban. Michigan is still coming up.
Checkmate!
Dome holds 49,250 for football, but I don't think they come close to filling it.
that's true. It sill requires ND to win 11 games which I find unlikely the way things have been going for them lately
The Washington Post sports page used "gantlet" when quoting Coach Fuente, which is why I looked it up; but I'm with you, if I had to bet, he was thinking "gauntlet".
Suppose they do though. A victory over Oklahoma always bodes well, TCU is not what they have been, and Baylor, honestly I have no idea of their identity. Say he grabs those three, and wins out. Do they reverse decision? I think they would, because it would still show an increase over his tenure!
Doing my happy dance
Can you imagine an offseason where Dabo, Jimbo, and Fedora are gone? Hell, we could be looking at one where Dabo, Jimbo, Fedora, and Petrino are gone. The ApoCCalypse would be devastatingly tasty to watch. Would suck for our conference, but after listening to all those fans the past few seasons, I would enjoy the show

Larry Fedora thinks Saturdays are for the girls.
