I'd like some highlights from Ahmed Hill's freshman year. Looking forward to him getting back on the court!

There are certainly drawbacks. But a 50k student VT is UVa's worst nightmare. It creates more alumni - and thus more tentacles throughout the state financially and politically. It forces UVa to either also expand - and give up the pretense of academic purity & exclusivity - or have the financial and political tables flipped.

In terms of athletics, it means more alumni, public, media and business support throughout the state, the regional and nationally - which in turn drives more financial support for athletic programs. This is the support VT must have in order to move into the next tier of football program cache and athletic program strength overall.

The sheer number of alumni produced is the reason the B1G is what it is financially, academic, and athletically.

This game is definitely one where I wish both teams could lose. Living in Upstate SC I'm surrounded by Clemson fans, never really had a bad interaction with one. There are just so many of them, and most are extreme homers, so it just gets old quickly. Shutting them up for a bit would be nice. I kind of liked Dabo at first, but he has turned into real ahole after having some success.

On the other hand there is Louisville. If you cross a LOLUVA fan with a WVU fan you get a Louisville fan. All the smugness of a UVA fan combined with classlessness of a WVU fan. I can handle the friendly trash talk, but most of them at the 2006 Gator Bowl were just straight aholes, a lot like their current coach. I guess its a good fit in that respect.

I don't know the names, but the ones directly behind and to the side of the parking garage. Particularly the ones that don't require parking passes from the athletic department (just the $10-20 on gameday). I don't want to have to deal with buying a parking pass and eliminating those lots makes it harder to tailgate unless you signed up for season tickets with a pass or know someone who does. Bad look for getting people who aren't already major contributors invested in the gameday atmosphere

The concept of most spread offenses is to isolate 1v1 match-ups, but after that there are differences. I'm going a little on memory here, and could be wrong, but I believe the UNC spread is more similar to ECU's, in that they use picks and motion to get guys open, but with better athletes. The chunks come when their athlete breaks a tackle or jukes out a defender in the 1v1 match-up, or somebody gets picked without a call on a pass. That part is similar to what Fuente does, but not sure that help us particularly, but also not sure that has been an issue outside of the running QB's. Fuente's is different in that it also includes a heavier dose of mis-direction to get the Defense out of position, like an old school triple option combined with the spread, which requires a more assignment conscious defense as well as winning the 1v1.

You're spot on. He leaves the ground more than any reciever I've seen. As long as he's securing the ball I guess it's ok. YAC would be nice but connecting on a deep ball is nicer. I think Bucky could benefit from another year in this offense.

This moment. Nuff said. Looking forward to the video!!!

Yes for NFL. 31 pts IIRC.

NCAA D-1 is 35, I believe. Been done 2 or 3 times.

So in like, 60,000 NFL and D-1 games or whatever the number is, no team has ever come back from more than a 35 pt deficit. So is 38 pts possible? Sure...in theory. But it's still garbage time mentally for a player - rah rah, must keep focused, anything could happen chatter from fans aside.

I have a hard time believing that the acquisition of the Pete Dye River Course had much of anything to do with the Virginia Tech golf course on campus....a golf course that never should have existed anyway...a course that started as an agricultural project to get grant money for it's construction and then upon completion of the project was quickly converted into a golf course. It's a hobby course which I don't believe has ever seen competitive use by the golf teams

Currently in class right now and I'm rewatching the 2015 ECU game and we have come a very long way in a little amount of time....So happy we hired Fuente.

see I kind of see it the other way...if they play well against FSU I could see them taking us lightly

FSU has a bad defense and UNC has a bad defense so this game could figure to be a shootout. Regardless of whether UNC wins or not if they score 45+ points they're going to think they can just run over us because of FSU's inflated rating. If they believe they can do that to FSU they will expect the VT game to be a cakewalk. They'll be in for quite the surprise in that case IMO

They are building apartment complexes, but a) they're expensive as hell (the new one is $1,000/room/month) and b) the Town of Blacksburg is making all of these complexes get built way off campus. Makes it hard for students.

Bucky leads the country in making catches look much harder than they should. I've never seen a guy dive to make more catches than Bucky. He seems to hold on to the ball better when he dives than when he catches it standing. It's kind of amazing actually.

I'm not convinced unc has found their rhythm on offense yet this year however Fedora has taught them how to win (even when not playing their best). It will interesting to see how they play this weekend after coming back and winning against pitt on the last play of the game. I'm not sure fsu is as good as originally predicted (all teams have scored on them so far) so not sure unc will roll over this weekend. If they pull out a win, they will be flying high when we get to town and that will be a real challenge for bud and corny.

I think the best case is for fsu to crush this team's (and qb's) confidence and keep them in 3rd gear for another week. If their O / QB finds their rhythm, it will be a tough out - see ACCCG last year against Clemson.

I don't think he recovered as much as you think. AB has plenty of separation. I agree that the throw was perfect as well, but he still got beat
