I'll be in Lot 2 as well! If you see a homebrew keg, feel free to stop by for a burnt orange IPA. I decided to stalk you a bit and noticed some similarities. I graduated from ME a few years after you and I grew up in RVA. I'll have a 2012 orange effect shirt on.

Yep, Sands was an outstanding hire, and is going to take the university to the next level academically. I've seen some of the things they have in the pipeline that haven't been announced, yet, and man, if they get the funding for everything, our profile is going to be so good.

Athletically, I'm not sure we could done better than Babcock. Sure, we have strides to go for fundraising, but they're actively working on finding a system that works, and its only a matter of time before it comes. What I'm most impressed is that we're actively trying to eradicate the small town mindset and embrace the fact we should be acting like a premier program of the region. We're actively trying to reach our potential, which... I don't know how anyone couldn't find that exciting.

I met Charles Steger a few times while I was at Tech and he was a great guy and left big shoes to fill, but it seems like Dr. Sands may have been one of the best moves the school has made in recent history and has really brought a new life everywhere, Academically and Athletically.

I'll always be a lifelong supporter of the best place on earth, but I'm REALLY excited to see what happens over the next few years in Blacksburg.

What I mean is, we'd rather be playing someone else. This pales in comparison to thinking of us playing Clemson, FSU or Louisville every year. Or a regular P5 OOC matchup.

The kicker is, the last few years our team has played like they'd rather be playing someone else too.

If you take out two incredibly sloppy quarters against Tennessee, Tech has played really well.

and Eastern Carolina has played pretty sloppy themselves recently. So, as long as they don't clean things up too much on there end, I fully expect a dominant performance from the good guys.

Drinking this beautiful beer in Lot 2 this weekend

When Scottie Montgomery goes to Kroger by himself, he takes the last cart with the race car on the front, as he's followed in by a family full of kids.

The only thing that might be close is a living ex-president or a unique athlete like Jordan.

It's a little off topic but I find it hilarious that MJ is on the sideline in Ann Arbor decked out Michigan gear. I can't imagine how frustrating that must be for UNC fans. How do you let that happen as an athletic department? Must be too busy looking for new rules to break and overlooking one of the most powerful (and legal) recruiting tools in all of sports.

This^^

I think it's simply amazing that we have had so many great players on the defensive side of the ball over the years, and he may or may not be better than some or all the others, but I think we are in good hands with Mook and the future will be bright.

Oh, and three other notes:

- The photo of Ford's double-coverage TD catch really shows how good of an athlete he is. Hand around the waist, one to the face, and one around his arm and he still hauled it in and made it look effortless.

- The photo of Sam Rogers running straight at the camera is the stuff nightmares are made of.

- I wasn't able to fully watch the game (at a family reunion with spotty cell service for streaming on WatchESPN) so I didn't realize Tevante Beckett got some play time. Glad to see the young guys out on both sides of the ball. All the video i've see on him has impressed me.

On the contrary, Sam is kind of a bitch on twitter. But yeah, that kinda sucks. I would think there'd be more coordination between bands and ESPN. Also, I was on drumline during high school so I think I'm supposed to like hate your wife but that was like 10 years ago so yeah we're cool now.

Yep! Agree- love that the players are getting the crowd pumped up like that on the kickoffs! I posted this on another thread> but I wish we could keep track of the touchbacks to date, kind of like we're doing now for the false starts.
