How is Hurts ahead of Evans tho? 4 TDs through 3 games isn't really worth shaking your stick at. Evans' stats are significantly higher and it's not like Bama's schedule has been a gauntlet yet or anything.

Beating Notre Dame late in the season would help Jerod's case......being 9-1 going into that game wouldn't hurt either.....

I haven't done much in the way of fishing for many years, in fact I think I've moved what little tackle I own twice since I last drowned any bait. The good news is that I'll be fixing that in a few weeks. A guy who works for me rents a place in Southern Shores every fall and has been after me for years to drop in. Looks like this year I'll finally be able to get away from work for a few days extending into the weekend of the 'cuse game (10/15). Looking forward to it since all of my fishing experience has been in fresh water on light/ultralight tackle; I grew up on the Occoquan river and have also done a little smallmouth fishing on the Shenandoah. Luckily my buddy has been fishing the OBX for decades so I'm in good hands.

Side note, my plan for Saturday is to take my ipad as close to the water as the wifi will reach and sit next to the cooler to watch the game, while the rest of the guys catch dinner. If anyone has a good backup plan in case it rains, I'm all ears. We usually stay up in Corolla on vacation so I'm not real familiar with the Kitty Hawk/KDH area.

Either way, my point is that Evans isn't even close to the same class that Jackson is and probably won't be this season.

From what I hear, ECU was incredibly careless with the ball against NCSU as well, its just that the Pack couldn't make them pay for it.

If they continue those ways against, us, it'll be a very long afternoon for the purple pirates

We murdered the smaller (16-26") reds three years ago in the North River (Mobjack Bay area) on 5 and 6" Jerk Shad in chartreuse and chartreuse and white combination. They were in less than a foot of water over weeds, so the unweighted hooks worked great, and when we were getting weeds, it is pretty easy to skin hook the bait slightly so as to avoid the weeds but still be able to sink the hook when bit. Of course, the bait is Texas rigged on the worm hook. I had good luck with Gamakatsu and Owner hooks, but any decent offset worm hook will work. Tried some of the other colors, including Electric Chicken, which looked good, but didn't produce nearly as consistently as the other colors I mentioned.

My Maravia raft was bigger than that at almost sixteen feet, but it floated in three inches of water. You should be able to make most floats, but I would be cautious about the shoals above the Pembroke "pond" on the Eggleston to Pembroke float and I wouldn't be caught dead floating below Glen Lyn in that low water. I nearly killed myself, my clients and my raft doing that once. Shumate can eat you up.
Try Ripplemeade to Bluff City, my favorite float in all the world. You should be able to negotiate all of that water with a little caution. Good luck. If you are a fly fisherman, try medium sized poppers in cicada colors, dead drifted in the shade line under the big trees. Emphasis on the dead drift, don't be afraid of shallow water, big bass will be there looking for the dead floating cicadas, and often in the middle of the day. Likely the best bet for a big bass this time of year in low clear water. The Arsenal float is doable, as well, but with that low flow, a tough float for a day's fishing, especially if you are bucking a headwind.

During Scottie Montgomery's time at Duke, Scottie Mongtgomery could not figure out what "T-bag Paulus" referred to after Duke lost to Virginia Tech in Men's Basketball.

Heisman is between Jackson and Mccaffrey imo. Y'all seem to be overlooking Mccaffrey but he is still lighting it up even after last year when he was runner up (he should have gotten to be honest). Only one on the list that is continuing what he did from last year with no signs of slowing down.

As for Evans..his stats are better than Houston's QB numbers right now but he hasn't made a clear statement yet. Gotta see what he can do against ECU UNC Miami and Pitt.

The schedule is set up for it. OOC has WVU, but they might be a cake walk by then. And then Clemson from the Atlantic Division at home, as well as the usual Coastal foes. Experience will be on our side if the older guys stick around. I think before the 2017 season we'll be hearing a lot about VT in the playoffs.
