Got it !
Western Carolina
East Carolina
One of these schools has it right...
For real, this is the best kind of recruiting. Win games and make outstanding plays. I'd go as far to say we don't have the team we had in '99 if we didn't beat Texas in the Sugar Bowl.

I get what you're saying, and I agree that overall the offensive production under Fuente will demolish anything achieved in the Beamer years. However, I think you might be selling Evans short to just assume that his performance will be "obliterated" by his successor. Part of Evans' success is inarguably Fuente's scheme. But the scheme isn't faking out defenders with perfect play action motion, or putting perfect touch and placement on his passes. Evans seems to have all the tools, rather than being a product of the scheme.
Until proven otherwise my feelings towards any VT football game are as follows

I work at ECU (I'm sorry) and got to see them play in their opener vs Western Carolina. Yes, it was Western Carolina, but ECU looks no different than they have the past 5 years. The preseason prognosis for the Pirates was that their offense would struggle under a new coach and their 3rd-string QB from last year, but they are definitely solid all around. I'm still as nervous as I always am for this one.
Honestly I thought Gesicki had the best catch, Ford the second best, and Brown's was 3rd or 4th best but looked the coolest.

# | Vintage Virginia Tech Performance Exorcises Demons in Win Against Boston College Summers, the QB who gave us fits last year, was moved to WR this year.....but he had 11 carries against ECU. I would guess he gets more than that this week, knowing what Montgomery and Summers have both done to Bud in the past. That's okay, I like our front 7 performance much better right now. We can shut that down.
ECU also had a WR with 22 catches against USC! So they must be running some of that ECU run/gun Offense still. That wouldn't have happened under Cutcliffe/Montgomery's O at Duke. But we've got the DB's to handle it. I'm looking for Chuck Clark to have a big game over the middle.
Damn, tight spot
I assume you mean the VT record, in which case I'm 99% sure it's 9:

And yes, that's 5 TDs in the 1st followed by another 3 in the 2nd. With Grant Noel as our starting QB. That game was insane.
I was waiting for someone to notice that. It is textbook.
I'll be excited in 2078 when we finally stop playing them.
Great having VT get national attention like this.
It's beautiful, even the flaws. All of it.

# | GIFTORY: Frame-by-Frame Highlight Reel of Virginia Tech's 49-0 Thrashing of Boston College What do you mean? David Wang was a first round pick... in the Chinese Arena Football League
ECU will always be a lose-lose for any P5 team that plays them. If they were any good, a P5 conference would snap them up. Instead you either lose (NC State) or don't win convincingly enough (USCe). The only way we win this game is to utterly dominate them, which is exactly what we should be aiming for.

Wasn't our db (Miggett?) on injured hammies also. I remember watching Warwick run by our secondary thinking it would be different if they were at full speed.
Yeah ECU is legit and it'll be interesting to see how we match up.
Their new coach seems to do a good job and they shoulda beaten USCe.
Also their offense is quite a bit better than BC so interested to see how
our D does.
I saw about 30 cars backed up onto the main road this evening in Chapel Hill when I went out for a run. Another Quickie Mart had only 1 pump open out of maybe 8.
ANYONE ELSE EXCITED ABOUT THE ECU GAME?
No.
ah yes, the old david wang effect: any time you're on the field with teller, it's possible your actions will be enshrined in eternal giftitude, so try not to look like an idiot...
Yeah, Teller brought the pancakes. Augie had waffles.
That first Teller pancake... Dear God -- that poor defender's arms & legs are flailing like he's in the mouth of a great white shark.
On the second I can't help but notice the block before the block. How many times over the past few years have we lamented the lack of chip blocks? Teller does a beautiful assist before moving on to breakfast.
