to be fair, I went back and edited to add more words...

That NC State game is really deceptive. I thought NC State really gave that game away. They missed two field goals early, dropped like 3 Ints - one in which the LB would've scored, and tried a fake field goal on 4 and 1 instead of just going for it like a man. Additionally, penalties killed State. NC State got too cute on that game with play calling. Kind the opposite of the SC game where everything broke ECUs way.
Our receivers need to play really well this week - it's an opportunity for them to excel because that secondary for ECU is suspect. Do we pass to open up the run?
I think that this is a big game a CJF and co. First game after a huge win. I want to see if they can pick up where they left off against BC. Obviously this has been a huge trap game for us in the past, can we avoid that and keep rolling? The Bristol lost hurts, but if UT turns out to be pretty good this year and we can beat the teams that we should beat, something we have struggled to do in recent years, then I will be happy with this year.
I'm not French, but my gut says that it has to do with protecting the ball and not turning it over. With how much Fuente has preached that, it makes sense that once Evans is beyond his first read he is hesitant to force a throw. If this is the case, I am perfectly fine with it, and with more experience that hesitancy will go away. Only 3 games into D1 ball, you have to think the game is still slowing down for him.
The reason I said that is that, while Evans is truly awesome, and is already arguably one of the best QBs we've ever had, we have to remember he only has 2 years of eligibility, and we're only running a relatively bare bones version of our offense while the players get used to the Fuente system. Give Jackson or Hooker 3 or 4 years with a full playbook with a full roster of players who are fully versed in the Fuente offense, and it should demolish anything records that are set now. And really, that's by design
Looking forward to another one of these plays:

Too bad Gallo couldn't do the same
see, I had to go and get all wordy and lost out by 45 seconds...shame on me
this is the kind of stuff that makes some people join the key players club...
Whoah, you mean literally just created an account. Welcome!
Great! It's awesome isn't it?
Now that you have an account I strongly encourage you to become a key play club member....if you have the means, of course. Keep this place going for years to come

I feel like this is an appropriate thread to resurrect during ECU Hate Week
I mean seriously, they got passed over in lieu of Colorado State....

# | Vintage Virginia Tech Performance Exorcises Demons in Win Against Boston College On the 2nd and 13 play (Slant to Carroll), if the QB pump fakes the slant, it looks like the RB should be wide open (Rogers on this play) coming out of the backfield. I'd love to see McMillian get the ball in that scenario...looks like it would be a race with a LB.
Almost a side-note: I love the warm feeling I get inside whenever Rogers has the ball inside the 5 yard line. That dude is gonna put points up at that point.
Also I like the callout for the ball Nigel Williams has been playing. That guy is quietly having himself a heck of a season so far.
Yes!
They also think they could deliver the entire state to the Big 12....
Teller and Alexander are just... bullies, man.
The difference is their fans will still tell you they're the better team based on the last two years.

# | Vintage Virginia Tech Performance Exorcises Demons in Win Against Boston College Stinespring actually did this against NCSTU in 2010.
The best part of waking up.
French, why do you think Evans is tentative on intermediate patterns?
Something just occurred to me:
ECU is doing better than expected with a first year coach after the coach who built the program left.
ECU has beaten someone they were expected to beat (Western Carolina)
ECU has beaten a team they were expected to struggle against (NC State)
ECU has lost to an SEC team only because of committing too many turnovers (USCe)
This is getting a little creepy.

3 of those were non-offensive TDs though...so 6 offensive TDs through 3 quarters

I don't think it's possible for me to get excited for ECU. If I was a billionaire I would pay them whatever it takes to cancel the rest of the games with them.
