JMU has put a pitcher from local Auburn High school in.

Foster 2 run homer in bottom of 3rd made it 7-0

You make a couple valid points that point to Mike Young's minimal amount of adaptation to late game situations.
But, when you type:

lack of development of Neo

I need to respond.
European basketball is a completely different beast than D1 ACC basketball. Yes, its taken him a full season to make some adjustments. I think that should be expected. The defense pressure he faces now is way more than in Europe. He lost confidence, tanked, and now he's starting to make improvements. The last few games are showing that. He'll be fine, and I hope he comes back. He might.

If we are serious about Basketball, its time to move on. Whether VT is or not is an open question.

I don't think we can afford to be 'serious' at both MBB and FB right now.

This is wear where I'm at. If basketball can go .500 in ACC play most years with an occasional up or down year, at least until football is #reestablished, I'm okay with it.

He's 124-96 at VT per sportsreference (.564). Seth Greenberg was .580 at VT.

Abromovage with her second RBI single. Hokies up 5-0 after 2

It probably wouldn't hurt to play up that, if next year is it, he'll finish with the third most wins all-time, probably the second most conference wins, currently 3rd in conference tournament game wins, and tied for 1st in conference tournament championships

Chatfield and Aldridge back to back RBI singles.

4-0 now

CMY is probably looking to finish out his current contract and then hang it up would be my guess.

2 follow-ups to this:

  1. Correct me if I am wrong, but last I looked, his contract is up at the end of next ('26-27 season). If it was extended past that, then I would have a serious problem with them letting him ride out his contract.
  2. How does the athletic department best handle the situation where CMY is OK with hanging it up at the end of his contract (assuming at the end of next year)? Given our very "meh" allure for potential basketball coaches (based on a combination of success, facilities, available budget, etc....fan base devotion is the real allure), how do we time things to give proper respect to CMY but avoid digging us in a major hole recruiting-wise? How do we get anywhere close to a Franklin-like hire when our coffers are completely spoken for?

I like Mike Young but really think the MBB Program would be better moving on.

The systemic late-game collapses, long streches of Offensive Ineptitude, and refusal to make D adjustments when average Guards are torching us for 25+ really isn't excusable when these themes have continued all year long.

The lack of development of Neo makes our chances of ever signing another International player with similar talent and potential essentially nil.

Oh, and we also have Zero signees in the '26 Class....yeah.....none.

This year's team missed the Tournament not because we couldn't beat Duke or UNC but because we couldn't figure out how to break a press or play transition defense in the last 4 minutes of games. We imploded games where we had a 95%+ Win Probability and made Nate Calmese look like he was Michael Jordan in the '93 NBA Finals.

If we are serious about Basketball, its time to move on. Whether VT is or not is an open question.

Loudoun Now had an article about the Chief Vet happens to run a clinic in Purcellville.

I thought the article was super informative and I immediately thought of this thread.
