Best question from my section of the NEZ this week: "Why are the lineman holding hands? Is it because Falwell won't let them do it on campus?"

Best response: "Yes and getting tackled is more affection than they can show on campus too."

Now for the week of serious prep for TN. The coachs said it, there is work to be done. I'm sure they have some surprises for this week.

It seemed the defense was not worn-out in this game, 'thank you' offense. Thethe just need to continue to build, fast! No pressure but TN will be fired up, too. Time to show Hokies Pride! An upset is always sweeter.

Yeah I thought that was super hype. You could tell they were hype about the kickoff sailing through, and then the students in NEZ or the Corps in SEZ would give it right back to them and it just led right into the noise for liberty on first down. Definitely seems to be something that was planned. I wonder who initiated that. I think its awesome we have a kicker that multiple times booted it into the actual stands on a kickoff with little to no wind either way.

Yeah that was kinda annoying for me in the NEZ right behind them. The majority of the time everyone missed the first down because everyone still had their hands in the air for the first down thing they play and were focusing on that instead of the actual play. Not sure how well the team communicates during that but if that bothers them at all then I would suggest a change.

The problem was never that Loeffler didn't have the right plays, it's that he was clueless about sequencing and couldn't get his teams to execute worth a shit.

Yeah the chant was definitely catching on but the cadence got off and messed everyone up. There was an initial bass thump before the D-B-U bass thumps and most people started the chant on the premature bass thump instead of the right one so they may need to tweak that a bit. I was in the NZ and it started off good but then failed miserably by the 3rd or 4th iteration.

#1 retirement job:
Cutting the grass at lane once a week with a riding mower.
Just gonna go ahead and put that at the top of the list.

Overall I thought the blocking was below average, especially given the opponent. Both the line and the RB / WR on the perimeter was soft. I assumed by the 3rd quarter we'd wear them down and didnt see it.

Bucky should be crushing cb's on the screen. OL seems to be catching people and trying to turn. Hopefully seeing it on film will help but TN probably likes what they saw (especially if 57 stays on the bench).
