Try more urban ABC stores. Less demand for bourbon. And I don't know about North Carolina, but I have the best luck finding Buffalo Trace on Thursdays in the Richmond area (delivery is every other Thursday, according to a couple ABC store managers I've talked to)

That's it in a nutshell. This game is only a rivalry in the border towns because of proximity to both teams. Now, I, for one, would welcome a rivalry with Tennessee, but I don't see them as too eager to set up a regular game, so screw 'em.
Where can you find Buffalo Trace? It's impossible to find in NC. I've been nursing one bottle for the last 2 years.

I always try to get to a Roanoke brewery the day before a game and fill a vacuum insulated growler with delicious craft beer goodness. Trying to decide if I'm heading to Parkway or Chaos Mountain this time. TKP's own Egbert posted a wonderful Irish Coffee recipe on here a year or so ago and that has been a staple of early morning tailgates for us.

Yeah, when I was taking his classes back in the 70s, he was a known stickler for promptness, but I had a conversation with him at the beginning of my first class with him. I explained that I was commuting and lived over two mountains and had to roll or push my car to get it started. He looked askance, but agreed that if I were late I would figuratively crawl on my belly like a reptile to my seat, but he considered anything after the class started as a distraction. Luckily, many classes in the intro course started with an example of a refereeing conundrum (he was a D1 football ref) and it was a "looser" time and I snuck in a few times with no undue notice.
Too bad for you, man. The first time I realized I was in the presence of greatness came when I was hiding my tearing eyes as his descriptive prose touched my heart, only to hear out loud sniffles from several of the big husky football players in the row behind me. The dude was a VT treasure. I liked that he announced first day that if you came to all of his classes and listened, you'd get a C at worse. If you came to all classes and took notes, you'd probably get a B. If you did both and actually read the textbook assignments, you'd get an A. Laid it out and gave you a choice. I got a B and appreciated not having to read the text to do well in his class. After all, I didn't take his class to learn about the Civil War or get an A. I was there to be entertained and enlightened by a master teacher. He did that.
Here's the thing...
They don't give a fuck. In fact, they firmly believe Penn St is the victim here and Paterno was completely scapegoated and everyone else is the asshole for even thinking there a connection between Paterno and Sandusky. Read the comment section of any publication with an article on this right now, and especially social media. It's filled with this insane delusion.
And this is why Penn State needed to get the NCAA Death Penalty. They didn't learn and still think they did no wrong. In fact they've doubled down on the worship of the mean who was the enabler of the whole thing. They've proven they'd allow it to happen again because they value football over everything, including the raping of children. Fuck that whole situation.

Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace, Blanton's, and EH Taylor all suffice. Yes, I am a fan of Buffalo Trace Distillery. I've also been known to drink Bulleit and Evan Williams Single Barrel.
This Belmont Farms Virginia Kopper Kettle also isn't bad, and it's from Virginia (obviously).
