The tweets from Ryan, Norm, and Andy provide quite a bit of relief for me. Answers most of the questions I have about the chart.
Gurner Till
It's staying in Roanoke. No reason to spend tens of millions more dollars to just up and rebuild everything to Blacksburg, where there is insufficient space for it. Not to mention the costs associated with moving millions of dollars of research equipment.
Virginia's General Assembly earlier this year agreed to fund most of the cost of a new $67 million building that will be the hub of what Tech and Carilion are calling an innovation district. It is expected to bring 1,000 students, scientists, physicians to Roanoke and spawn biotech startup companies.
This is brilliant. Well in, CJF
Wow that's cool. I grew up in Midlothian until 7th grade. Then my family moved to hoo-ville until I got to leave the land of losers and come to Tech. I'm a student member at Western Albemarle Rescue Squad as well as a full active member at Christiansburg Rescue. In hindsight I kinda wish I had taken FF1 instead of EMT-B when I started out but at the time I didn't think I had the physicality for that. But I really enjoy EMS and the technical rescue aspects and stuff like that.

This is amazing news. The options this gives the university is untold. It also means my wife will have her "retirement " Job picked out by me now.
My only concern is do they plan to leave it in Roanoke? If so this is the same thing Nebraska had issues with.
Great move by Virginia Tech.
Onward and upward.
Turner Gill doesn't return his shopping cart to the corral. He just leaves it in the parking space.
I don't want to belabor what's already been discussed below, but I just gotta say...I don't think any of those people will be "riding the bench" in this offense.
I've had 3 jobs in my career and didn't know a soul at any of them before applying. I know that I am terrible networker and socializer with no family connections so I have to make up for it with a stellar resume and good interview skills when the time comes. Or in the case of my 2nd job, be the only qualified applicant!
As I sub-thread, I wonder what the breakdown is on interview mediums that resulted in a hire. I've gotten hired with a phone interview, a face to face interview, and most recently a Skype interview.
I regret that I have but one leg to give you for this. Looking forward to it.
Blasphemy.
That is a toss up. We won't have a good feel until we see the scheme against Tennessee.
Are the constant Lawson jokes the new QB to TE jokes?
So I'm a IFSAC FF 1 and 2, NREMT- basic (in hiatus status while I'm going back to college), I'm a HAZMAT Technical Level operator. As for places I've run: starts out with Forest View Volunteer Rescue Squad in Chesterfield/ Richmond, then Chesterfield Fire and EMS at Company 5 as a volunteer, met wife and moved to Ohio where I worked for Scioto Township Fire, then BST&G fire Department around Columbus, then when wife's training took her to Dayton I worked for City of Trotwood Fire and Rescue (this was place where I was busiest and got most worthwhile experiance). Now I'm a volunteer at Murrells Inlet Garden City Fire Department near Myrtle Beach SC, while I'm back in school.
I've encountered both of you guys' situations (I teach Spanish). Ultimately I think it depends on the person.
If the Chinese people were able to "see" everything this place would be absolute chaos. That is 100% guaranteed.

You have just provided me with a deliciously evil idea. No, j/k. But seriously
I liken it to the time my oldest brother threw me into the deep end of a pool without knowing how to swim at all.
Did that shit really happen!?!?
Go away!
Turner Gill has had Carol Lee donuts and claims he wasn't impressed.
Been here a little over a year. We lived in Raleigh for a year, then moved to Cary this summer.
Where did you take up residence?
Hence my edit. When I moved here they were still CBS... then everything changed.
There's nothing for it. You're going to have to put on a pig pickin' to show them what a barbecue truly is.
1) Thoughts on Bucky listed as a WR instead of a TE?
2) Breakout WR this year?
3) Plans to travel to any games?

I'm a recent PolySci grad looking for a career in urban planning. I'm currently interning in Roanoke, but I want to work in/nearer to Blacksburg at least for the rest of the year. Do you have any advice for finding a job between undergrad and grad school?
