I get called at least once a month when I'm not actively job searching because of Hokies4Hire. When I was actively looking, I'd get multiple per week. Just because folks don't use the resources available to them doesn't mean they don't exist.

I can say, for myself, if it weren't for temp agencies, I'd be working a job I don't care for with less flex hrs. Haven't exactly been nailing it with interviews (which used to be my strong point) recently. This current job I'm at, the only interview was me actively proving my worth while on and doing the job. The last successful interview I had was for seasonal work at Lowe's (which I was at for 3 mos before picking up a higher paying temp, no interview).
To get things going, I know folks are curious about what kind of squad Liberty has. The guy to watch defensively is defensive end Juwan Wells. Wells was a part time player last season (behind Big South defensive player of the year Chima Uzowihe) as a freshman. With limited snaps and only 8 games, Wells still put up 7.5 tackles for loss and 5 sacks. He has power 5 size (6'2 255) and tremendous twitch. He will present some defensive problems.
Last season, Liberty was more pass first and had a nice controlled passing attack against West Virginia (the only film on Youtube.) Their quarterback graduated, and per Bud Foster the new quarterback presents more of a running threat. With Tennessee and Josh Dobbs ahead, they should present a decent replica.
Man, I kind of want to join in on this TKPC AMA theme, but it'd probably be frowned upon by my employer. And I probably couldn't answer all the questions.
I'm surprised by some of the moves that this depth shows, but I'm going to wait until I see the on-field product before I can make any statement or opinion about it. We've been so excited about Fuente, his offense, and what our guys can do in it that we freak out when we see guys like Travon or Teller on the 2nd team. I expect both those guys to play quite a bit, so we'll see what happens. Although I can't lie... Stroman as a starting corner scares the crap out of me!

CJF said a couple weeks ago that the O-line is the least of his concerns. Do you feel the same way? Does our O-line actually look like our strength this year?

Not surprised. I applied for dozens of jobs...and got my job from my thesis advisor calling me and saying "I got you an interview at 1PM tomorrow". I didn't apply for the job I had until after it was offered to me.

Aside from normal fence jumping, the recurring incident that I have had to go to court over more than anything is people hopping off the ride on the White Water Canyon inside the saw mill. I guess they assume we don't have cameras and eyes on the entire ride.

I think it means networking is 85% and the other 15% would be just cold applying to a job online without knowing anyone or having any personal connection to the company in any manner.
honestly, you'd be surprised. I know a few people who have complained about not having a job, but will apply to one position and wait to hear back before applying to another.
In 2 days I will have lived here for 16 years. In that time I built 5 company's China operations from ground up or from massive losses to profit. During that time I found other interests were available to me. For example, at one time I was raising millions of dollars and designing wildlife conservation projects/zoo restorations for non-profit all over China as a side endeavor. It was related but removed from what my company's income generation was geared toward, so as long as it did not impede my job I was free to do as I wish. It helped that I was often on my own in China and could if I wanted go do side endeavors, and arrange my own time as I saw fit.
Then i started my own office and ventured into my current stage which is multi-platform business that spans 6 different businesses. The best way to do it is to find someone in the startup financing game, Venture Capital or Accelerator/Amplifier, etc and see how and what they look for to know if something is viable. When you have an understanding of what they are looking for then you can give a pretty fair assessment of whether it will be worth your time. Other than that I would say passion. A lot of what I am doing now is driven by my passion to want to do them, but it took me a long time and to meet the right people to understand how to make them a reality and launch them correctly ( or as best as I can). If you are passionate about your idea then you should never rush it. Waiting patiently to launch something while you secure the things that will make it a success, which could take years, rather than rushing to launch often makes the difference in it being successful or a failing.
The best advice I ever got is to not let get too attached to anything. Even if it's your greatest passion what you are currently doing may not have been the best setup or model to succeed. Don't go down in flames trying to make a sinking ship float. Close, learn, regroup and open again with a better model for success.
