I think it's just a matter of adjusting for us, really. This time next year, or the following year, we'll hear what Fuente has to say and we'll be able to read between the lines.
Although I would still like to know what the hurdle is/means
While we are speculating on Teller, hasn't he had issues with penalties and could that be part of this? He might just be the original ADHD baby. I don't really want to get inside his head. The kid's a baller and will be on the field punishing defenders. It is nice to see another one of the Fab 4 moving forward.
I would have thought a lot of teams bought themselves championships back in the day
My memory got a bit hazy, it wasn't 2005, of course. In 2003, though, MV5 and Randall split time though. So again, it's not like the more senior guy was out there and the young, talented hotshot was stuck on the bench. And probably the reason MV5 didn't see the field more (hindsight being 20/20 and all) was because of maturity/character issues that ultimately undid him. I knew some people around the team during those years, and from day 1 they said that MV5 was insufferable.
This decision is going to make or break this team.
From what I hear about Evans, he has not really taken on a leadership role for his teammates.
I would have at least given motley the start against livery and then rotated. Gotta show the team some love.
At 55, loluva is still too high.
I don't think the views will be as bad as people think. I have been to Charlotte a number of times and during the boring parts of the race you can easily watch the drunk people in the infield doing stupid shit. Also, I have been to the Richnond race more times than I can count and after wrecks it is very easy to see the crew memebers running to their garage. It may be hard to make out numbers of the players but as far as following the action, along with the help of the big screen they have, it shouldn't be so bad.
Yep, exactly. This is what people forget about that year, the impact Tyrod had on an ACC championship team. He ran for two TD's against UVa in a pretty tight game, one that was for the division. I definitely wouldnt risk that to trade for '11. Logan played pretty good that year, and there was 38-0.
ESPN did a whole round table discussion yesterday (Thursday), about the huge numbers of teams that have really limited media coverage, are not sharing depth charts and won't name starting QB's.
It's the same thing , just different words. Frank was the master of saying 50 words without answering a question. He was known by reporters for Frank speech that said nothing.
This maybe the most legged comment I've ever seen...Joe is it possible to create a page with the most legged comments of all time or is that impossible from a coding standpoint?

parachute of chemo
I never thought of it that way.
To the twitters...
Keep slipping those replay officials Big 10s and we'll be okay...
Its been a short while since we had a stable of three running backs that were that good.
It's funny you say that, I actually read those comments the opposite way. "Pre-existing, non-behavioral hurdle" is more specific than "some stuff to work out". The same goes for explaining that Evans won the job by being more reliable with predicted outcomes, vs. "Well, gee, we just kinda, at the end of the day, we felt pretty good with both guys but a little better with one guy..."
As in almost all all-time lists, it is heavily biased toward the most recent, and the memories of the voters. The top ten is hard to argue with, and would have been similar if done 30 years ago. The rest of the list is just who has the best chance to become a blue-blood if they are winning when our kids are our age.
It is hard for me to deal with all the Fuente coach non-speak. Don't get me wrong, as it is not meant as a knock on Coach, but there was something comfortable about Frank's predictability, and, well, frankness, that I really miss when I hear interviews like this. "he just showed a little bit more out there" just rubs me warmer than"more predictable outcomes"., probably for the reason old jeans are more comfortable than new ones. "He's got stuff there he needs to work out, but he's a real good kid and a great player, and we're all rooting for him to back out here" versus "he's got a pre-existing hurdle". The times they are a changing.
Sigh...sometimes I feel like we have the most secretive team in college football. Good article, thanks for clarifying the facts. And I respect the professional method of limiting your own opinions. Yall run a clean site.
Maybe its just me, but "a kick up the butt" just sounds so much....different than "a kick in the butt" which is what my mind was trying to read. Sorry to parse your wording, it just gave me a MUCH more vivid mental picture. #phrasing, #Iam39,butsophomoricinmanyways, #pleaseSept3,getherefast.
Not sure if this is meant to be negative or positive. If you mean to imply the cupboard is bare, I disagree. See all the ACC with new coaches, and a few without, for a talent comparison. If you mean it in the context of the coaching and/or schematic change will bring even better talent, I hope that happens. I have to admit my hackles go up when people fail to appreciate Beamer. I know opposing fans (my age) who HATE VT. But they respect Beamer as someone who did It the right way and was good at it. When fans for other teams have more respect and appreciation than fans on here (not saying you) It really bothers me, and makes me, and apparently a few others, overly defensive.
Clemson is not a blue blood. They bought an NC in the 80's (it's common knowledge almost, but I work with a guy who was on the 81 team) and since I was born in 1992 we have been better than them overall.
Agreed, I heard a lot of room in those comments for Teller to still be named the starter. There are a wide range of issues that might have landed him in the dog house possibly related to performance possibly not. Either way, I expect him back starting in short order.

I've read a comment on hear of the exact opposite. That Evams was the only one actually acting like the starter with the team and getting them together on the field and such.
