I am a huge fan of this of this look!
It really has no effect on recruiting
It was literally unveiled by a recruit...
I do find it interesting how many of the players are talking about how they are in the best shape they've ever been...I think Hilgart was a great hire and I'm excited to see what we can do with players who are in better shape now than they've ever been....
Yes, you could argue that point, but it has been even longer than the near fifty years I've been Hokieing that black and gray were our "pure" colors. Maroon and Orange are Hokie colors to me, but I know things change with time. Seems like this obsession with new color schemes is mostly a generational thing, and I'm in the senior section now, so you youngsters get to drive the train. I can't help what I don't like but it isn't going to make me any less of a Hokie fan to see them in unis that, to me, look almost comic book-like. No worries, I'll get off your lawn. Y'all have fun with it, I'm just around for the football, not the fashion show.
Bingo
I understand his point. My point is the corps is more than a group of dormitories. Despite those dorms not having Hokie Stone the school was at one time entirely military and at that time the rest of the campus did have Hokie Stone. So it is a nod to the cadets because both Hokie Stone and the corps were VT history from the beginning.

This might be unpopular
Joe, I apologize in advance for my tirade
Guitarman, if you need to downvote this to oblivion, I understand...I just need to get this off my chest
I think it is funny that all these self proclaimed "purists" are on here pining for more orange and maroon uniforms. Look, I like O&M too but they're not even the school's original colors. You're not purists or even old fashioned traditionalists. You're selfish cynics who are afraid of anything new and different. Get over yourselves. Trashing this uniform (a uniform that seems to be loved by coaches, players and recruits alike...whom all happen to have opinions that actually matter, to boot) does absolutely nothing productive. I can think of at least one poster here who is probably currently drafting an open letter to Whit. Before you do that, please consider this. The uniforms are intended to go back to original VT colors (black and grey) and in some way honor the rich military history of this school. They are iconic. And to all those folks who are trying to say these uniforms stray from the VT brand, get out of here with that garbage. Your narrow view of the VT brand are colors that aren't even original and a logo that was invented less than 50 years ago. These uniforms exemplify VT by showing off Hokie Stone. You can't try to tell me that Hokie Stone isn't part of the VT brand. The name Hokie Stone HAS THE WORD HOKIE IN IT for crying out loud. Hokie Stone is very much a part of the VT brand and has been much longer than O&M or the [square root of 1] VT symbol...
If you don't like the uniforms, fine. Be glad that we'll never wear them again after September 10th, 2016. But don't go publicly trashing them because they don't fit into your idea of what branding should be.
/rant over
That also could've had something to do with the guy wearing the uniform
Gives me vertigo and does nothing to reinforce the VT brand. Like when Campbell's Soup changed their logo to: "Campbell's Soup...For When Mom Is Too Drunk To Cook".
I like how Kam says the "hitsquadhokies" ha.
Bad Fawking Ass!
Seems positive on the snapchat posted this morning.
"cement design"?
These give me a giant hokie stone in my pants
I suppose the race is beginning at 1 PM today. I bet those at BMS are certainly stressed....

I have one question, what are the players thoughts?
They are the ones wearing them
CBs seem to be turning in our favor as well, although not enough to really mean anything significant.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by just how many players jacked up since the bowl game.
Lots of people think the QB whispering is Fuente's greatest asset, but really he wins games by having those kids in the gym and on the track every single day possible.
I expect to see a lot of "they kept it close through halftime, then we pulled away later" games this year.
Seems like a lot of work went into the design. They're innovative
and creative. Good to have after some efforts in the past that weren't
nearly as good.

Great to see. I hope the reunions keep getting bigger.
There needs to be a greater effort to get former players to games (and get them decent tickets or field access), such as homecoming, as well as spring events when the NFL Hokies aren't at camp.

I'm going fishing today for the first time in more than a decade, in the outer banks. Thought you all should know.
