These unis are badass that is all
Because of our uniforms duh /s
They should have done it in the morning.
It's not just Hokie Stone.
If you look closely, it's camo Hokie Stone, similar to military uniforms (BDUs).
Over the past 5 years, we've lost every single game where I didn't eat Honey Nut Cheerios while watching College Gameday during the morning before the game.
Why do we always lose when I don't eat Honey Nut Cheerios while watching College Gameday before the game?
No need for a kayak. You can wade fish for them downtown
Maybe it's more of our record against big teams in big games than it is the uniforms.
Main concern: We did beat UVA last year wearing those awesome throwback helmets, but we never seem to win big games wearing crazy alternate jerseys.
I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. What we are wearing has literally no impact on the outcome of the game. L-I-T-E-R-A-L-L-Y
Yeah, I've kind of figured that this season will be...rough. I do, however, expect to see a lot if progress concerning the offense.
I am not a fan of us doing the wacky black jerseys but these are pretty damn cool. They are one thousand times better than those AWFUL black jerseys we wore against Boise State. They are better than the black Beamer jerseys from last year.
While we seem to do these alternate jerseys every year and a bit too often in my opinion, I'm all for it for the biggest attended college football game in the history of the world. I also get that the recruits love them.

Has any other school had a top recruit unveil a new jersey before? Is this a first?
Miami is having trouble keeping wide receivers healthy or out of trouble along with a few other players. Now Coley is caught up in the luxury car rental probe. Their WR depth is poor they better get some good production out of their TE's and RB's if they are to be ranked in the top 25 when they play us. That O-line of theirs is also hurting for depth.
My first thought as well..maybe it's a hip term the kids are using these days, like "solid design." But Bam Bam Kam can call it whatever he wants
I wish they could've gotten the race in this morning. I live about 15 minutes from the track and it's sunny right now. The forecast is showing a 75% chance at about 2 pm though..
I don't think so. We entered into camp with Motley and Evans, so they were put in front of the media. Then after a bit of practice and closed sessions Jackson shows he's performing way above curve which at minimum puts him in the hunt. I think that is just a natural progression in preseason practice.
Bristol isn't a true road game....though I do expect a majority of the fans will be Tenn fans..Even then, though, I don't know how loud they'll be hundreds of feet from the field. The players and coaches might actually be dealing with eerily quiet circumstances on the field.
but yea, ND and UNC are definitely going to be tough games on the road. I think Miami will be ranked when they come to Blacksburg, and that's on a Thursday night too. According to some, Pitt is supposed to be pretty good so even they could be ranked (snickers) by the time we play them...how many programs play nearly half their schedule against ranked teams? I would have to think if we manage to win 8 or 9 games the bowl committee would have to consider our strength of schedule during the selection process
The weather doesn't look perfect today either.
We only need 15 more people who enjoy this site to contribute a small amount to get that first milestone of 200 members. Come on guys with less than two weeks till football season in Lane starts lets get the ball rolling to get 1,000 by seasons end.
All three are also road games. Depends on how some of the Coastal teams pan out, but this is probably our toughest schedule in at least a few seasons.
And in fact, they're building new Cadet dorms that will be in Hokiestone and tearing down the old dorms that are made of brick.
3 of the teams on our schedule are currently in the top 25
I think at least one more will likely be ranked by the time we play them (Miami)
we've got a pretty tough schedule this year
Only 6 SEC teams? That definitely seems too low! /s
As a civil engineer, I cringe at how many things are wrong with that statement. Oh well, I still love Kam!
I have been a member of this site for 5 years and after a brief hiatus living overseas for a few years I'm back consuming the content on a daily basis and more than owe $80 bucks in return. Proud to finally join. Go Hokies
the [square root of 1] VT symbol...
Damn I never noticed that logo is a square root symbol until reading your post.....

I know it logically doesn't. But then why do we always lose when wearing them?I'm going to ahead and edit after thinking further about this....
The uniforms themselves have no bearing on the actual game. But they do have a (slight) bearing on the players. Are the players going to be sitting in the locker room before the game thinking about how badass they look out there on the field when in reality they should be thinking about their assignments? I know in high school we got some awesome new gloves and the entire lacrosse team was talking about them for days leading up to whatever big game was on the schedule. The coach said something along the lines of "stop worrying about how your hands will look out there and worry about catching and passing." Does all the buzz about the uniform take away some concentration the team should be placing on the game? Just a thought. Again, I like these alternates alot and I usually hate the alternates.
