Would be hilarious for a mass Hokie Twitter movement to only send kind statements to the UT account / fans. The USC-Alabama stuff got a lot of run, but there is no real animosity there, and fans are trying to create it.

Looking at the radar, there's a gap between this current cell and then there is another storm that will make its way through.
I was told by someone directly involved with BMS that they were going to do their best to avoid delays because preparation was going to take every moment. They said the lights would not be going off after the race. I'm crossing my fingers that the rain moves out of the area soon.

The Tennessee fans commenting on the uniforms are reminding me of just why I can't any of them. They do this every. single. year. Enter the season thinking it's going to be 1998. Can you imagine being that cocky? It kills me. Just ask Ohio State about 2014... I know each fanbase has its own bad apples, but I've never seen Tech fans act like this. If Tennessee were wearing these uniforms, they'd be iconic. I've seen enough versions of the smokey grey UT jerseys around town to last me a lifetime.

Depending on how much of a hipster you want to be with this, one could argue that the black and gobbler gray are the purest VT colors of all.
Im sorry but those are positively badass. I get that o&m is our thang and in general ill always prefer our school colors but as far as a blackout type uni goes....couldn't get better imo.
I like these a lot in their own right. My broader thought is that things are going this direction for recruiting if no other reason, particularly for non-blue-blood programs. I don't think a game here and there with alt uniforms hurts our identity, and so long as it doesn't start to I want the staff to do things like this to help attract talent, even if just a very small edge.
I am a purist as far as uniforms go, but considering what a lot of our alternatives have been, this is absolutely sick. I love em.

...on the other hand, I really enjoy winning football games and good recruiting is crucial in the accomplishment of that goal, so if flashy uniforms works, it works.
Fair enough. It is a risk, hopefully calculated, but I'd be surprised if it gets remembered by many outside of Hokie fans, Hunter, and maybe some others he is close with.
You are not alone. I don't like them either. Wife likes them even less. We each have our tastes and opinions, and I like the primary school colors. These unis just don't look like VT to me.
I think it would look weird for VT to give this to a kid who then commits somewhere else.
Just trying to clarify, what do you see as the downside of swinging for the fences if he doesn't commit? Not doing it with a different recruit? Egg on our face? Future recruits expecting red carpet?
Another rain delay... might be trouble if the setup crew really does need every hour starting at 5 AM
