He's writing a behind-the-scenes book on his career at Tech. He's working at the golf course at Ford's Colony in Williamsburg. He wants to start his own football camp.

that book and that camp will both kick serious ass

That pretty much sums up our loss to army. Someone earlier pointed out how to use your boots on the rope to take pressure off the arms. Could have been the difference in the championship lap,
But we did come close. Second out of 16 schools isn't bad.

Bryan Randall was finally ready to put football in his past.

After 12 seasons wearing 12 different jerseys for teams in the NFL, the Canadian Football League and almost every imaginable sparsely populated corner of arena football, he decided earlier this spring, at 32 years old, he'd stretched his successful career as a quarterback as far as he could take it

Great write up on Randall and the new Chinese indoor league.

Is this affiliated with the Peddler that used to be in Kingsport, TN?

We've got a day set aside for the aquarium. All the reviews make it sound pretty incredible.

I was hoping for it to go to 11 rounds too - would have loved to see it decided by Neuer vs. Buffon shooting at each other.

That Germany-Italy game just took a solid 5 years off my life. Such a sloppy game, but damn that finish was exciting. Kinda wish Hector had missed so the keepers would have had to shoot.

Mondays are something, something, happy occasions...ah, those were the days...landing a homegrown 5 star that could have gone anywhere.

The program seemed to have a constant upward trend, and full of suspense and excitement.
I hope Fuente gets us to that type of experience again. I don't really have to have a national title...I just want to feel like it is possible.

My points follow:
1) Recruiting is part of, and inseparable from coaching at the collegiate level.
2) The defense was bad last year not because dual threat QBs are difficult to scheme against but because there was a dearth of talent.
3) Pooh-poohing coaches who get talent but supposedly get out schemed comes across poorly when the Hokie defense routinely gets both out-schemed AND beaten by superior talent.
4) 1-3 cast doubt (at least in my mind) on Bud's status as the #1 active DC.

I do think the team is poised to get better and can't wait to see how things play out. I also think that how much better they get is gated by how much better the recruiting becomes. So far the recruiting looks about the same. Fingers crossed that it improves and that the talent currently on the roster starts to break out.
