Stay in their own dorms, condo's, etc. But that screws up curfews.

Is it actually policy for most schools to curfew their own players the night before a game?

Where else would they go?

New coach, new traditions? Will they stop going to the Hotel Roanoke? That would save the school some money.

how do you rig fishbites for croaker? think it would work for mangrove snapper?

edit: so i had no idea fishbites is/are made about 3 miles from where i'm sitting...guess i should try them and help the local economy.

how do the swim swim/jerk baits compare to the gulp equivalents?

I could climb the rope during practice, but when running the whole course my upper body strength was too drained to climb the rope all the way up at the end. I think I was making good time too, but that rope at the end is brutal.

No they are not. The only times I ran it legally were under supervision of a cadet in TAC who had been given permission by someone in the commandant's office to let us train on it. Once a campus cop stopped and demanded that we show we had permission. Cadet buddy had gotten written approval so the cop didn't give us any crap. We invited him to run it with us but he declined. BTW, my PR was 45 seconds, which I thought was pretty good til I found out how fast some of the TAC guys can run it.

I didn't find North Shore until college but it became an instant classic in our apartment. Just in case you hadn't heard, the guy who played Turtle had never been a surfer before filming the movie, then he quit everything to live the surfer life and he's been happy ever since.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm looking forward to seeing what he does against GT.

Were you there 2006ish. That sounds very familiar to the story I logged in to post except we were being seated at dinner in Venice and the table were we seated at had a retired ME professor and his wife. I was sporting my Hokie gear so he introduced himself and asked what year I graduated, degree, etc.

After I got married my wife who is a Hoosier was always amazed that no matter where we were (typically midwest) some random Hokie alum would always stop and say hi if I was wearing any swag.

Quite prescient, those CB guys...I am completely amazed. s/

Is it time to start talk of stashing the CBs in the same closet as the empty MNC display case?

It's all part of coping, I for one think he would have been a good addition. The Jacksonville area seems to be a growing recruiting ground, would like to see more kids out of there.

I always do love how we go from practically worshipping the ground a recruit walks on to detailing why didn't really want him and how is no big deal he didn't sign here the second he goes elsewhere

When you have to start a lot of freshman in the secondary due to injuries, dismissals, and leaving early for the draft, they are going to make mistakes that are not the DC's fault. Making adjustments to what the offense is doing can compound these mistakes if the secondary is not comfortable with what you are doing. Allowing us to get thin at DE and LB is only partially the DC's fault. Recruiting is a team business, and sometimes the right guy gets in the program and does not work out for whatever reason. Finally, when the offense cannot score, every mistake the D makes is compounded in the hearts and minds of the fans. Good running QB's put up numbers on everyone, but they consistently put up worse number against us than most other teams (see GT, Ohio State, etc.). We have been burnt when the other team develops a special game plan to feature a running QB not in the film study. We have also given up big rushes when we cannot get to the QB quick enough, or lose contain trying to do so, but that happens to all teams, and is usually not a DC issue as much as a recruiting/depth issue, for which the DC is partially responsible. Would the D be better if we had Alabama's talent? Do you really expect Bud to have done that in Blacksburg without any offense? Would you want to trade Foster for any DC, because you think they could do better with who we have on D?

Yeah. Being a CB, he'll probably get busted for pot or something right before he gets his big chance to shine. /s

There's a reason they became a hot commodity. It's a variable that is hard to account for. A true dual threat QB who has the ability to make the passes and the right reads is a top draft pick. Even average ones can make things happen that are unpredictable. The game is still adjusting to solve that problem and have been since McNabb and more specifically Vick.
