November 1, 2003: Miami vs VT - Camp Victory, Baghdad. Thankfully because of the Corps, AFN plays a lot of VT games. I won $50 on that game from a Miami fan on my team.
December 4, 2004: VT vs Miami - My barracks room in Darmstadt, Germany. Again, thank you AFN.
November 5, 2005: Miami vs VT - FOB O'Ryan, outside Balad, Iraq with no AFN in sight.
September 8, 2007: VT vs LSU - My apartment in Sundance Ridge.
November 26, 2011: VT vs LOLUVa (38-0, bro) - My and Mrs. APFOW's apartment in Knoxville.
Thank god for WatchESPN, turned it on just in time to see Croatia's first goal which was beautiful. Great match, I've thoroughly enjoyed watching all these games during work. As a Ronaldo fan, the Portugal games have been frustrating, can't seem to find the back of the net, but overall I've loved watching this tournament.

Don't feel too creeped out by the weirdness on this show; I actually watched the entire "Penny Dreadful" series, and , yes, it was dreadful. Can't believe I watched the whole thing for such a sorry ending, but what else are you going to do on a slow Sunday night ? :--(

a lot of folks don't believe you can move the needle at a public hearing or thru public comment...but if you have a good foundation for your position, you really can.

I don't mind going down easily. I know players do it and it's part of the game. That's not what I have an issue with. It's staying down (when you're not hurt) and complaining to the ref that you were fouled. Even if you get fouled you should still get up and keep playing until the whistle. That's how I see it. If you go down easily and the ref doesn't call it, too bad. Get up and move on. Sitting on the ground like a toddler and whining about it does no good for anybody.
yeah it's hard to tell sometimes. But that's not exactly what I was getting at. At least that guy wasn't show-boating and complaining to the ref that there should have been a foul call. He was legitimately hurt and he didn't even act like he was in that much pain. But when players go down and are obviously faking injury and disrupting the flow of the game it bothers me. Here is an example of a player feigning injury and being called out (accurately) for faking it. As a side note, I don't condone what the keeper did. It's dangerous (in the event that the player was actually injured) but it proves my point nonetheless.

However 4 is already in the rules, refs just dont enforce it enough. You touch the ref, it is supposed to be a straight red unless its entirely incidental.
I also agree with 5 to an extent, but leave it strictly for penalties and BIG calls, if you stop a free kick as a team is trying to take it quickly to restart it, it can really disrupt flow. Gotta be really careful how you implement it

I will say "going down easily with contact" is part of the game, and I can accept that. I prefer players who play through contact, but the fact is, the way refs call a game, if you fight through, you don't get the call, if you fall, you do. What is not acceptable to me is falling with no contact. straight up diving. that needs to be punished, and I am fine with it being a post match review and subsequent match suspension. I like the speed and fluidity of soccer, and am willing to accept some of the flaws that come with that, but if there are ways to change behavior (player and ref) without changing the flow of the game, I am all for that.
My wish list for soccer summarized:
1. if refs call more fouls when players won't fall, more players will try to play through fouls. players have to know/trust that should they lose the ball and not gain an advantage, that refs will call fouls even though they might still be on their feet. players have been conditioned to go down (unless they have a clear advantage) because more often than not, it's the only way to get the call.
2. because refs seem to associate players going down with there having been a foul, diving is also a conditioned part of the game for players. these can be tough calls for refs, but can easily be corrected through post match suspensions and fines.
3. this one is a little harder, but i would like to get over the top embellishment out of the game, too. I know going down easy is technically embellishment, but as i said, i can accept that. what i don't need is the flipping and flopping and screaming that makes you wonder if there is a sniper hitting hamstrings with .22 rounds. again, post match might be the best place to deal with this, but maybe refs give benefit of doubt on close calls to the defenders when this happens? i hate saying that, as they should call a foul when they see one, but i REALLY hate the over the top embellishment.
4. ref taunting/bullying. it has to stop. refs need to start issuing yellow cards IMMEDIATELY to any player without a captain's armband on who approaches them to argue a call (or argue for a call) and straight reds for any player who grabs, pushes or pulls the ref. it's an ugly part of the game that can easily be dealt with if we are willing to accept an adjustment period with lots of yellow and red cards until players learn.
5. replays: i am all for them if the tech doesn't slow games down. have a 5th official with a monitor in a booth on the same frequency as the ref and his linesmen. if he sees something quickly, he can chat with the ref who can decide to make a call, etc. this can happen in open play or during normal stoppages (there are plenty of them in soccer), but should NOT be an incremental stoppage. it should just work within the flow of the game. for goals, GLT seems to be working, so continue rolling that out to more leagues/competitions.

I think there's a combination, the red wizards and ladies definitely have some special powers, that cannot be denied but they're definitely a little creepy. That being said their religion believes in a final battle between the great other (Night's King) vs the lord of Light, who we have assumed to be Jon Snow or Dany, hell even the hound could have some kind of role. I'm not entirely sure but that doesn't seem all bad. The smoke monster coming out of the red lady just seemed to creepy to me and they seem all to willing to murder children to do something.
It all just seems not good or not ok, and I'm just curious how that plays out. Them, the Tyrell's, and the Arya are the three i havent pegged down yet

agreed, its tough moving full speed, case and point watch this. it really didnt look bad at the time and i was the first to say what a freaking flop, but at closer slower speed he clearly broke his leg. its REALLY hard sometimes full speed, but yeah south Americans and the Mediterranean European teams definitely embellish some stuff
