Sure. First things first, I can tell you at least 5 different people that I know in the Wolfpack Club where I can call them up and just talk to them, this includes Bobby Purcell. Not a big donor by far, but a long time 30+ year donor. They make sure that your questions are answered and they you're in touch with what they are doing for the student athletes and facilities. In the 10+ years I've been a donor to the Hoke Club, I've never talked to anyone, nor has anyone reached out to me.

Second, they've done a really great job of selling facility upgrades the last 15 years, and have given new donors the opportunity to benefit from those upgrades with premium seating. There is a very fine line between donors who have donated $1,000 every year for 30 years and donors who donate $30,000 in a year with respect on who do you determine to be the more "loyal" donor. I think State has struck a happy medium between the two where both are happy with the benefit of their contribution.

Third, They do a great job of getting students involved. They have the student wolfpack club which gets alumni hooked early to the idea of being in the alumni booster club. Even if you only have 20% participation with the student body, if you retain 10% of that as alumni, it's a tremendous benefit.

All in all, it's really about communication and selling boosters that they are benefiting the program and gaining the personal investment in the success of NC State. VT just doesn't have that.

But, what is the correlation between donor success & football success. Miami is down there sucking hind-tit along with us and they've enjoyed quite a bit of football success nonetheless. I think the dollar amount of the donations has to figure in. You could feasibly have a smaller donor base percentage-wise but have a bigger amount of revenue if the donations were big dollars. I just can't wrap my brain around the numbers just yet.

I think it has to be Dorne. That's the only way to logically bring that shitty storyline back into play in a quasi meaningful way. And it would make the Greyjoys coming their way a little more interesting.

Agree one hundred percent. We have our foot on their throats and we absolutely cannot afford to let them catch a breath. Not all of our victories have been beat downs, but they have been victories, and most Hokies really want that streak to continue, regardless of how the rest of the season shakes out.

Willie McGinnis not McGinnest, caught me off guard as well, had to google. But Chinese Sports leagues do throw out some absurd money to lure bigger (or at least household names at a point in their career) players, so it wouldn't be a huge stretch if he weren't 44 years old. Doubt an indoor league has quite that pull, though I'm surprised they didn't try to get TO. Maybe they were afraid he'd celebrate on the star on the flag?

I wouldnt doubt that they may get paid more in China than the AFL. One example is women's basketball. Brittney Greiner, a #1 overall pick in the WNBA earned around $50K from the WNBA her rookie year, but in China, she earned $600,000 that same season. Max contracts for the WNBA are $105K a year so its becoming a new trend that the top players are bypassing the WNBA to be ready for their foreign contracts. Diana Taurasi sat out her $100K WNBA season because she is making $1.5 mil playing for a Russian club. Average WNBA salary is only $60K.

It appears that the AFL is currently paying their players somewhere between $830-$1000 a game, so annually that is only $15-$16K a year. I would imagine they could find a much better compensation package from the Chinese teams simply because of the demand for entertainment over there coupled with a huge population.

I agree with and would add that hosting the World Cup again will help tremendously. I was 10 and was lucky enough to attend a couple of games at RFK. Hosting the WC again can create another generation of players/fans for us.
