Ideally, I'd like to play another military college or academy once a year. Rotate between TAMU, VMI, Citadel, Army, Navy, and Air Force. If we're talking a one off, then Penn State, since somehow we've never played them.

Thanks for sharing. I'm left wishing they put up more than the 3 and a half minutes that they did. I really love what Fuente is all about and I feel like we got a great coach and one that really fits into the culture of Virginia Tech. September cannot get here soon enough!!!

VMI Football is EPICALLY bad though. I mean, real bad. They haven't had a winning season in probably 20 years or more . I sometimes even forget they are actually DI FCS. I bet Washington and Lee's football team right next door would crush them, and they are D3.

Edit: Last winning season was in 1981, so 35 years. Wow.

If we have to schedule a FCS team I'd like a school that is somewhat nearby, a school I don't just want to win for winnings sake, but a school I want to beat because I don't like them.

One time game? I'd like an excuse to go to LSU, UF, Oregon, USC, PSU, Michigan, Texas, A&M, or any other school on my college football bucket list.

I'd also like to see Tennessee become an every year thing with a rotation between Bristol, Blacksburg, and Knoxville.

I've always wanted a 4 way round robin rivalry with UT, WVU and PSU.
Year 1: PSU vs VT, WVU vs UT
Year 2: UT vs VT, PSU vs WVU.
Year 3: VT vs WVU, PSU vs UT
Rinse and repeat.

I like the season openers against big name teams like USC, Alabama, etc.
Lots of lead up during the offseason. Makes for an exciting game.

As for the next one, I'd pick LSU.

That right there is the definition of life's peak

As much as hate to admit it UNC is probably out talenting the Hokies right now. Helps when you don't have to go to class though...

Some more info on my comments. From 48-51 the NCAA tried to ban ALL player compensation including scholarships.

VT, VMI, UVA, UMD, and a few others got called to task for apparently ignoring the rule to various degrees. But in a glass houses situation nobody had the guts to go after the group with VT as the face if the group. Since everyone was afraid they would be the next school to be called out.

So the idea died and the modern scholarship system began to take shape.
