What an interesting set of tweets. Is Brando cunning or a buffoon? If he's cunning, he's putting pressure on ESPN to shit or get off the pot of Fox steps in. But maybe it is Swofford playing Brando for those purposes?

or is Brando just talking out of his ass?

I think 7-6 is a realistic and okay first season. I don't really care as much about the final record as much as is our team a team to watch. Are we improving? Are we moving the ball? Most importantly and we playing lowsy against teams we should beat and are we in every game. Do we look out of our league with some of these big games?

If we go 8 - 5 and lose close ones to Miami, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UNC, and maybe Pitt win a bowl game. I don't want to say that's the ceiling, but I'd say that's a really good first season. If we get blown out in any of those games or lose some upsets I think that's a different story.

I've come to terms with the fact that cable/satellite/internet companies are going to find a way to screw you over no matter what. I would have cut Dish service out if I didn't have a 300gb/month data cap via my ISP. They base my data cap on what internet speed I have. I pay $70/month for 15mbps internet. It's absurd.

Yeah, but it's not something you'll notice from a distance when they are playing unlike the circuit board pattern on the Boise State black uniforms, which I also loved.

I drank the water in Mexico and it messed me up pretty badly. I was on my honeymoon, and the last day I brushed my teeth without without thinking to use the little bottle of water next to the sink they provide.

I went to Bojangles the other day for lunch. Maybe that gave them the little push they needed to up corporate sponsorship monies for the ACC. Maybe I'll put Havoline in my car now.

so is that gonna be the Wednesday before the first game of the season? Which Wednesday are we talking about, exactly?

In all fairness some of that can be blamed on the administration. Tech used to be the Boise State of college football. Take some cast offs some walk on's work hard and be competitive with the big boys. Didn't have the highest paid coaching staff didn't have the biggest stadium didn't have the money. But then we had a taste success we put up an empty national championship trophy we started raising ticket prices we started renovating the stadium putting in luxury boxes building huge indoor facilities and now decided we want to compete with the Alabama's of college football and not the Boise States. So yes there is a period of adjustment for the Hokie faithful.

I believe these are soccer uniforms and personally, I think they look awesome. That's what anthracite looks like. I'm less of a fan of the pattern they have in the maroon and would probably prefer it say "HOKIES" instead of "Virginia Tech" but they still look slick.

This would be the best way to approach it and since they are starting from scratch, maybe they could actually get ahead of the technology curve for once (although not hopeful with Swafford in charge). I would have to think selling a subscription through an online medium would be more profitable for the ACC rather than letting cable companies take their cut. I am not sure if there is a common means of running this through Roku, Slingbox, Sony, etc., but this is where entertainment is heading and they better have a plan to accommodate streaming services.

EDIT: The more I think about it, getting the ACC network included in one of the cable packages would generate the most revenue as people would have to pay for it as part of a tier. I know I am paying for SEC/Big10 network right now because I wanted the FOXSports channel lineup for Reds baseball and guess what is in the same channel set.
