So Jon is relieved from his Oath since he died, correct? And he has an army of wildlings. Shit gonna get real in the North.

As a history major, I appreciated the pun.

# | Virginia Tech Overhauls Hokie Club to Boost Donations, Meet Growing Scholarship Expenses There are COUNTLESS Hokies with immense pride in their school and their team.
That may be true, but according to Bitter's article, only 4% are willing to support the program financially: "Despite having 238,169 living alumni, Tech has only 10,158 donors." [article]
Hopefully there will be a lot of emphasis on increasing that 10k number, as well. How many alumni don't give simply because no one's ever asked them to?
Try that slide at a Times Square subway station and your knees will look worse than an Anton Exum's after a pick up basketball game. Is that Fred McMurray? That must have been well before My Three Sons (and most folks here).

judging by the percentage of the logo showing, he's anOSU lock, with Auburn as a close second. Doesn't look too promising for the good guys...#analysis

They have Bucky going to the patriots in round 1.

Bucky Hodges, TE, Virginia Tech: A former quarterback, Hodges has intriguing athleticism at 6-foot-7 and 245 pounds with first round potential if he takes his game to the next level for the Hokies in 2016.
can't read through this whole thread to catch up, so apologies if already covered, but doesn't it seem as though we're simply keeping ticket prices low/equal while increasing donation requirements to purchase them? donations are tax deductible while tickets are not, so i appreciate this approach (even as someone who doesn't buy tickets).
ie midfield seats could cost $150 each per game (6 tickets = $7200 for 8 games, none of which is tax deductible) or they can cost $60 ea ($2,880 for 8 games) after making a $5000 tax deductible contribution. So the total cost is $680 more using my made up numbers, but $4000 of it is tax deductible vs $0 being tax deductible if we simply increased ticket prices without focusing on the donation model.
seems like a fair model for the donor IMO unless i'm oversimplifying/missing something.
I think Tyrion has Targaryen in him so yeah the prophecy would leave it to Jamie. What if it's Arya warging into Jamie after he dies? Then it (kinda) fulfills the prophecy and Arya gets her kill.
Yeah, that's a big shift. I know the prophecy says that Jaime will do it (I don't even think Tyrion is her full brother), but I just can't see how Jaime gets to that emotional end game (if, like you said, he didn't do it in Tyrion's trial).
My theory is about Arya fulfilling her destiny with what seems to be the biggest bang for the buck. But it requires some challenging conditions as well, like Jaime dying and Arya being there when it happens.
What you are saying here vs. what you stated above are night and day. Obviously it has to improve.
They should. Annual mailings go out to everyone in the area to the mailing addresses on file through the main VTAA, of which they are extremely thorough in tracking you through life (like, eerily thorough).
This has not been my experience at all; actually far from it. I've attempted to update mine and my wife's address with the school multiple times to no success. We both graduated from Tech. I've never received anything about any events in the mail (I live in NOVA so there are plenty around) and have never had anyone from VT attempt to reach out to me. I don't feel like I'm alone either given that Fernley mentioned the issues he's had with the alumni database with Tech as well.
The other part of this that snail mail doesn't work like it used to. To get people to come out to events you have to give them a reason to and just because isn't good enough. I'll use me as an example. If there is an alumni event on any given weekend there are likely 4 or more things that are competing with it for me to attend. I usually have some sort of kid's sporting event, some sort of birthday party, a hunny do list, and family time/date night that I want to do. I don't have the luxury of attending something "just because", I need an actual reason to do so. Hell there have been many TKP happy hours that I would've loved to attend but haven't been able to for one reason or another.
The Fighting LeBrons were getting kinda sloppy against the Hawks in the 3rd and early 4th qtrs last night. Curious as to when Steph will be back for GS.
Edit: fixed. Sorry
Its possible if not likely that Jaime ends up at Riverrun in this season where there will likely be some Starks loyalists if not Starks themselves. The viewers have all undergone this remarkable mindshift towards Jaime, but the Starks haven't...they hate his ass. If I was to guess, Sansa has Brienne kill Jaime at the end of this season and Arya takes his face to kill Cersei.
I think we'll see a big shift. By mid-season, she will have her trial by combat. She will win, but some event will cause Tommen to be killed shortly after. In a fit of rage and emotion, Jamie will choke Cersei, either because it was her fault or because he blames her for all of their kids dying.

If Toronto keeps having 30% FG shooting nights from Lowry/DeRozan, they aren't gonna beat Miami, and it'll be 6 games at most. Miami has shown they can put the clamps on defensively when the other team isn't in an offensive groove, and Toronto doesn't look like an efficient scoring team right now. As a Miami fan, I'm trying to avoid bias with predictions, and being pushed to 7 games against Charlotte was a surprise, but with the form both teams are in, I'm expecting Miami to win in 5 or 6.
will they also repaint/refinish the bball court (not indicated by the graphic)?
Only way I could make that list is if I win the Powerball tomorrow night.
Maybe they will send out invitations and whoever responds first will get an available spot. Allowing only X amount of position players or something like that. I feel like that could diffuse any possible animosity a HS coach could have while also limiting the number of recruits.

# | Justin Fuente Reflects on His First Spring in Blacksburg Trying to Fill Beamer-Sized Shoes I like his approach. It makes the logistics much easier and thus possible to do both more camps, and more targeted camps; e.g., on Friday night, you are at the Bolles School in Jax and Saturday you are at Atlantic HS in Delray Beach. Danielle Bartlestein has advance staff at both locations doing setup, film, and takedown. Cater the refreshments. Coaches show up, schmooze, eval, schmooze some more, and move on.
