I like the Chicago Maroon, which is red mixed with brown and looks like the leaves in the fall, not the Burgundy or Mulberry, which show up on both the maroon and the purple color wheel, as they mix in blue instead of just brown. I also prefer the Burnt Orange, like the leaves in the fall, better than the traffic cone orange. Maybe I'm just old, or like the stuff that goes with my warm complexion, but I prefer the colors of VT stuff from before 2000.

If you can put it away AND NOT TOUCH IT to live off of for a couple of decades it can grow to where you can retire off it.

One of the most important things that the average person is not taught growing up (I have no idea why). I can assure you that if I came into a large sum of money, especially while I'm young, I wouldn't touch 95+% of it and continue working and live off the income from my job while the larger sum grows over time. The guys who receive excellent financial counsel, are the guys who likely enjoy very happy, financially stable lives, with or without football.

Even though their season ended in tough fashion, I think Charlotte has a bright future. Kemba is going to be a force for years to come and if they can resign Batum and add another piece they can contend sooner rather than later.

No one is talking about the pants! Why couldn't they have done something cool with the pants? I feel like I could overlook the shoulder stripes if the pants were more than just a solid color with a Nike logo.

I was really impressed that they brought Jon back this early. I think we were all expecting them to drag this thing out to at least closer to midseason. This makes me think there's really going to be a lot of meat this season, at least for a few story arcs.

A retirement calculator also takes into account inflation, and interest, and in some cases income taxes, and is a much better way to estimate the future value of money and income. You would need about $3.75M in safe investments to retire on an average of $100,000 per year in inflation adjusted $ for 50 years. That's about $6,250,000 in pre-tax income, plus another $100,000 to spend that year for every year you take to make it, less the interest off what you saved the previous years. If managed well you could retire after 10 yr at the figure, but there is a reason most NFL players still work after the NFL. If you can put it away AND NOT TOUCH IT to live off of for a couple of decades it can grow to where you can retire off it.

I did not like the new uniforms at first, but after sitting on it for a while i don't mind them as much. Really it is just the shoulder stripes not really matching the helmet stripe (one seems modern one seems traditional). I am ok with the shoulder stripes w/o the helm stripe in the left picture above. I would prefer the shoulder stripes off with the helm stripe on the left picture above.

In the end, if we win a lot of games or make a title run ala 1999 they will be everyones favorite (like the 99' uniforms).

I think they are setting Theon up for more hell, the only person worse than Ramsey just arrived in the Iron Islands.

And Ramsey's "Gift" next week is going to be tough to endure.

Well, we did fairly well. Friday, we floated Ripplemeade to Bluff City, had bluebird skies and wind, but still managed to catch 75-80 fish, a bunch were redeyes (rock bass). I got a 21-1/4" fish early on (Yum Dinger) and my buddy managed one just shy of 19", also on the Dinger. Jim caught a dozen or more on one of Chuck's Crittermites, but I was really out of rowing shape and between my crappy boat handling and the wind, poor Jim had a tough time of the fly fishing. Sat, we went Foster Falls to Rt. 100, cloudy day, no wind, not a single walleye to be seen. Had one musky follow up a smallmouth, only one we saw in two days. We maybe caught 35-40 fish, but nothing over 18", with just a few rock bass in the mix. I was really disappointed to not catch a walleye, and I fished for them hard with a Rattlin' Rogue, my go to river walleye bait, but all I could manage were a few smallmouth on it. We saw and talked to Mike at the put in, he had a trip (spin fishermen, not fly guys), and we had a nice visit. He told us the walleye were doing well and muskies had been active, but you couldn't prove it by our day. When you fish with Mike, tell him Perch says hello, he knows me, and that it was good to see him again. If the walleye had been more cooperative, I would've been happier, but it was a good float, nonetheless, and likely the float you'll go on with him. I've never been blanked on walleye before on that float this time of year, though, so I wonder if the preponderance of them have beat fins back to the lake. Good luck! I'm waiting on some pictures from Jim, but wouldn't know how to post them. If they're any good, I'll try to figure out the posting thing, we'll see. Wish I had Charley Wiles' photographer, that's a great smallie shot. Now, it's on to the flounder.

He also had a fascination with dragons as a young boy, which is never seen with characters from the other houses. In fact other characters despise dragons because of they were the super-weapon that subdued Westeros.

I hate the purple, and don't care for the stripes with the new clean lines. I really don't care that much about the uniforms, but will not buy a jersey for myself in that color. My wife likes purple, maybe she'll get one.

I think it would have to be a Stark that kills him, either Jon (half-Stark) or Sansa. If the Starks ever want to reclaim their wardenship over the North Ramsay is their only hindrance and it would be a perfect ending to the Bolton's ghastly rule over the North.

The new stripes may be a subtle nod to the Corps though as they almost reflect an exaggerated version of rank insignia on military uniforms.

There's an interesting idea... much like helmet stickers, we could have the shoulders of the uniforms be empty and start stitching on stripes (pillars?) on an individual player basis as the season goes on.

I don't have a problem with stripes, necessarily. I just think it looks forced and IMO it was poorly executed. I think they could have made the shoulder stripes work but it just seems in-congruent the way it's done here. It would have looked better to just do away with them altogether. I'm sure the stripes were kept for political reasons. It is possible that Nike's first proposed concept lacked the stripes and when it was mandated that they be added back in they sloppily threw them on there to get it done and please the client. Of course that is all conjecture. That's just how this feels to me.

Agreed. The shoulder stripes are just really worn out and don't fit at all with a more modern font and number design. But I think it was mentioned elsewhere on here that Beamer absolutely loved the stripes, and these uniforms were ordered before he announced his retirement. Plus, I'm sure we didn't want to completely do away with the stripes the second Beamer is gone, so I imagine they will linger for a little bit longer. I'm hopeful we can do a complete overhaul for next year. Take the stripes off and I think this is a sharp outfit.
