Agreed, I just think it will be interesting to see if this ever backfires. "They put up recruit X in the penthouse and my family got sent to the Motel 6 down the road." I suspect the NCAA will establish some guideline as to "fair reimbursement" value for the amount spent (e.g. prevailing hotel rates in the area, akin to the cost-of-living stipend that athletes can now get) and this will be a moot point.

alcohol and condoms at what is effectively a college party?! Say it ain't so! /s

in all seriousness, the alcohol wouldn't even register with most people if it weren't his own brand and as for the condoms...well, most of us have taken health class before so we can figure that out individually.

i'd actually be surprised if VT hasn't had artists and provided them with similar lists

Yeah, exactly what GuitarMan said. I would have loved to have gone last night, but when you're two and a half weeks out from finals, school has to come first. The amount of projects, exams, papers and other assignments most of us have due in the very near future is really starting to pile up. I'll definitely be at the spring game, but I think 2700 students alone on a random Tuesday night is an awesome start.

At least we'll have some semblance of an offense line up against a defense

Isn't this basically the difference during the season, too? The only difference I can see is that UVA has to keep score during their actual games.

They have been serving the food truck food in D2 the past several weeks to test what items are popular to be sold in the trucks for next year. If you're in town for the spring game and come to D2, I highly recommend savoring these items. I had this sushi wrap and it was the best thing I've ever eaten at Tech.

Well, the spring game always had modified rules. At least we'll have some semblance of an offense line up against a defense and they're keeping score (albeit in a modified way).

Hate to be the figurative guy, but we're not technically holding a true spring game either.

"We'll do our best to simulate as much as we can gamewise. It won't be a true game," said Fuente.

After viewing practice last night, I can tell you they will rotate. I know this sounds terrible to some, but will actually be great. The "1" group looks like TMac at Tailback and Rogers at H-Back. Sam has pretty good hands so they will be utilizing him sneaking out into the flats and some screens from his H-back position. Durkin will rotate in here for sure, as will Peeps. I haven't had a chance to see Peep's hands yet though so he might be geared more towards running situations.

I expect Shai and McClease to both get reps as well. For Shai's ability to run inside, and McClease for kind of a scat back role designed to get him into space.

In practice there was a time when TMac lined up in the slot and I'm excited for the possibilities out of this group. After seeing how the RBs may be utilized, I couldn't help but think that this offense is basically tailor-made for Khalan Laborn's skill set. I'm really hoping that Laborn recognizes this as well and might be our edge over FSU.

And this holds true in every facet of recruiting. Not to open an old wound, but when Josh Sweat was nearing his decision, we sent every single assistant coach to visit him in the week leading up to his announcement. Do you think there was another recruit that got a home visit from the whole staff that cycle?

Blue chips are treated like blue chips. The problem starts when the fawning continues after the LOI is signed. First day of practice, it doesn't matter how many stars you had.

That's Edmunds3 in the hole, taking on Peoples with the correct shoulder, no?

Edmunds just looks like a player.

(Is there a way that I can compliment TMac on hitting the hole without getting the "Phrasing?" meme?)

Hate to be the literal guy, but there isn't even going to be a UVA spring game this year:

I guess Bronco didn't want to withstand the attendance jokes in his first year.
