See that's your problem, Rabbit. You've got those thin little bird lips.
Teller, Conte and Gallo all looked good there but good GOD man Teller just looks a man on a mission.

At one point last week, Vice moved every offensive linemen one position to the right in practice, a test of sorts to see how well each player understood the entirety of the new scheme.
It must have been fun as hell to watch Teller at center.

# | Hokies' Open Practice Reveals Rapid Pace, Injuries and A Glimpse at the Future Nice to get some first hand info. Hope all our injured guys can rest up and get back at it soon.
FYI: Don't google "Calling Jugs gif" while at work.

# | Hokies' Open Practice Reveals Rapid Pace, Injuries and A Glimpse at the Future Excellent write up, I like how from everything I am hearing pretty much everyone is competing for playing time, everyone starting from scratch. Going to be a wild and exciting roller coaster this fall...
New Yorkers eat at roach coaches all the time. We tell the stories of food poisoning to the tourists so we don't have to stand in line with them and the regular lunch crowd. I'm now living in Atlanta and I miss the roach coaches. I would love some chicken and rice with hot sauce and some mystery white sauce for lunch. Instead all we have near my work is crappy fast food chains. You want to talk about food poisoning!

# | Actually sensible NCAA Reform, Schools now pay for parents on Official Visits Really surprising to see see sensible and NCAA in the same sentence. This reform makes sense, especially when you try to recruit from all aspects of people and some cannot afford to travel. Hopefully this gets more recruiticorns to the burg!
Ive personally woken up in the water, out of the boat, with a nice bloody gash on the forehead because I was a dumb kid not paying attention doing something ive done 10's of thousands of times. And then head met the aptly named Boom(the horizontal spar attached to the bottom of a sail that can swing across the boat with great force) and i ended up in the hospital overnight. And I think we can say Sailing is one of the least traditionally "contact" sports there is.
I think in general any study that expands the data set and our knowledge of how our brain is impacted by outside trauma, especially in youth regardless of the activity that introduces it is important. There is just so much we still are discovering.
Just when you think they've settled on a camera angle, BAM new angle.
I agree on the importance of education, training, and quality control with the adults involved 100% and first hand that any sport where your head can meet a hard or fast moving object you need to be very aware of safety..
Beyond just competing I actually coached sailing for 4 summers at a competitive yacht club. And one of the corner stones was that if you wanted to be allowed to run class, teach the youngest age group(7 years old) or any of the racing classes, you needed to go take a 24 hour long Level 1 Instructor Certification from US SAILING. Included the obvious stuff like making sure your seamanship was up to snuff, you could tie the knots and all.
But a ton of it was just how to coach safety first, recognizing when a kid might be hurt but not show it, making sure the kids had their boats set up the right way so that lines didnt get tangled and that their PFD's worked, and the like.
In the high schools many of the JV crews are actually now being required to wear a helmet just because they are new to the water often and while I dont find it necessary at my age/level, just starting out it could have been useful and wouldnt have been too mad if the coach required it.
Appreciate the commentary and feedback for us old guys that can't get in. Legs all around.

# | Hokies' Open Practice Reveals Rapid Pace, Injuries and A Glimpse at the Future Looking forward to Saturday when us old farts get to see them in action.
Rogers took reps at tailback and Peoples at fullback with the 1s during drills. Evans missed a wide open receiver during red zone plays. Motley made the nice touch throw the the front corner of the end zone for a touchdown. One formation that I liked in particular had Hodges wide and Wilson in the slot on the boundary side during red zone plays. That combination of size and athleticism opens up all sorts of possibilities.
Offensive line looked good on running plays. Running backs were gaining yards before first contact. Other than that both groups had their moments.
I suppose the fam and I will walk the 0.5 miles from our house to the stadium. Going to be a can't miss spring game. Should be a blast.
So what is verdict for a TKP tailgate? Anything happening?
Great info guys. Did y'all get a sense that one side of the ball was more successful or outplaying the other? Have your expectations for the offense or defense changed before you saw practice to afterwards?
2700 students on a random Tuesday night for a practice? Shoot I think that's a GREAT start
I wish I knew what the hell you guys were talking about. Maybe one day I'll have time to get into making beer and not just drinking it. Sounds like a fun process.
The VT social media is saying about 2700 hundred students, wish it was higher, but that's a good start.
Wish I could say I was being "that" guy, but we quite literally may have had more students there tonight than a UVA Spring Game.

French, Joey and Alex will be on-hand for the spring game, but unfortunately I can't make the trip down to organize anything "officially". I'm disappointed and hope y'all are able to set something up.
