Let me preface this by saying that I have been a HUGE Caps fans since day one. Yes...day one. I remember falling asleep listening to games on AM radio school nights in Junior High. They won like 9 games in their first season. I used to play one on one hockey with a buddy on frozen Four Mile Run in Arlington. That Islanders playoff series in the late 80's...No. No. I did not go there. Suffice it to say, few know my total/complete "Caps fan" pain.
But I think they will get it this year. Really. They just seem to have all the answers.
I saw bits and pieces of the game at work, so I have been catching up online since coming home, and I came across this summation, which I thought was so satisfying, so delicious:

Wow I really wasn't expecting this at all. He picked up 3 CB's to Nebraska just yesterday. When a kid gets that many that quickly I figure the gurus must know something we don't. Today is a good day.

that game was ugly on behalf of all things Philly. fans were a disgrace. the hit on Orlov was filthy. that guy will get huge suspension. Caps had 9 PPs and scored on 5 of them, reeling off 6 straight goals to end game. I hope Orpik comes back for 2nd round. His head was ringing badly
they surely tried to fit the narrative tonight of what most people think of Philly fans as a whole... and succeeded lol

Caps are crushing the Flyers this series who are getting no help from their fans. Who woulda thought that handing out plastic bracelets to Philly sports fans would backfire. If anyone knows how to turn anything into a projectile it's Philadelphians.

Which just shows the pointlessness of getting excited (or dejected) about recruiting rankings 10 months before signing day when maybe 1/3 of slots are filled and a decent number of those who have already committed will decommit long before signing day.

I like our shot with Laborn, Williams Hunter and Crosby obviously. Mitchell no shot from that clip. 2 out of that group would be really really good. 3 would be amazing. More than that is unrealistic. 1 would be expected I would think. 0 would be a huge disappointment
