Obviously, the Commandant wasn't sleeping anywhere near campus that night. It was REALLY loud. Kind of surprised he would be sleeping. If I remember correctly, wasn't there a military ball of some sort going on that night?
Seems I remember reading that one of the safety plugs in the barrel went through a 6th floor window at Slusher. Skipper was near Memorial Chapel, I think.
And the fact that your Dad was involved makes me want to get my cane and chase kids off my lawn.

These last few weeks are going to be exciting with the relegation battle and the battle to win the league. Much better than last year when Chelsea won the title with a few games to spare.
If young metro don't trust you...
Those relegation battling teams are pests this late in the season. I have a feeling this relegation race will come down to the last matchday.
yes they do
We're talking about judging the coach's recruiting efforts in his first two classes as they happen, class ranking is literally the only measurement we have. We may very well have picked up some of the big-time contributors you're hoping for, but we won't know for another 3-4 years. Literally all we have to judge by is the recruiting rankings, so that's the story for right now.
My point is that even the most successful case we can think of (Clemson with Dabo) included a tumble in recruiting for two years. If we're going to have extremely high expectations (and I think that's reasonable) then you have to base those on how it actually happened, not the results. It seems that people are jumping to the conclusion that because we're not immediately signing top recruits like Dabo did that we're never going to be able to. The reality is that Dabo took a couple years to get Clemson's recruiting to where it is now, and our expectations should be similar.
As for rankings not telling the whole story, there's a reason that class size matters in the rankings. It's because a small class means you're leaving holes all over your depth chart and leaves you vulnerable to injuries. It worked for Clemson because all of their guys panned out and injuries were kept to a minimum. That's as much pure luck as it is successful recruiting.

From talk on TSL it sounds like you are correct. I wonder how much that impacts our chances of landing him.
I thought this was an interesting look at some coaches perspectives on the banning of satellite camps:

I wouldn't be shocked to see this ruling revisited in the next couple years - at the very least, with a little more regulation.
Love the bend by Tremaine on that last clip. Very impressive.
Not saying mine wasn't, but I'll be damned if I didn't want UNC to win so it at least looked decent
So, if I am reading this post and these videos correctly, our QB's are
1. Evans
2. Lawson
3. Motley
Evans had the impressive spin move, Lawson had the TD and Motley got sacked, also that's the order the videos were in, so I guess the depth chart is settled.
Some things are harder to judge for a rating than others. Size and athleticism are fairly easy to recognize, while insane effort (Rogers, Grimm) is not. Having the most athletic guy on the field makes difference, and most of them have at least 4 stars. A great system can help you compete without as many, but if you want to win consistently it sure helps to have someone out there is always a mismatch for the other team. I like the excitement I'm hearing from recruits. I think that will help us get just one or two more of the 50-50 recruits, which will help get back to competing for the ACC. Hopefully having an offensive system with help us get over the issues Beamer had with winning the big game, and we can get to that next level. I have not seen or heard anything that would make me think this expectation is off base so far, so I like what I am hearing.
Exactly. How else do you think Orion Martin got his interception in the Orange Bowl?

So was Mrs. Sweat
I just turned the game off. Not worth my time out here in AZ in the middle of dinner to watch.
I will say that the Philly "rep" is as much a badge of honor for Philadelphia fans as it is the result of lazy reporting by sports media that uses it as a convenient go to when other cities and fanbases have done the exact same things, which just kind of gets filed away and forgotten. But when its Philly, the narrative is "well of course in Philly..."
But last night was pretty pathetic by the fans (and the team on the ice and the continued mistakes of a rookie head coach in the playoffs). No excuse for it.
Oh absolutely. And I struggle a lot with the not letting myself get too down about things after growing up a fan of Philly (parents grew up in Philly before moving down after college). People took the Super Bowl loss in stride down here, which blew my mind, cause I'm used to fanbases going through periods of mourning and dwelling on what didn't go right, and instead, people are just super amped up about this upcoming season. And the Canes, I mean their attendance is awful right now, but that's just a product of being so bad for so long (1 playoff appearance since they won the cup in 2006) but it should get better down the line now that they seem to have a path back to relevance through defense (seriously, within 2 years they could have the stringiest blueline in the game for a long time to come).
Having followed the Panthers and Canes (tough to catch the Hornets too much in Raleigh, but I try when I can) since their inception, its easy to be a fan when people always look for reasons to be optimistic rather than the opposite.
Mathematically they just need to win two and draw two. I think they can do that even with Vardy suspended for two games just looking at the schedule. (Win against Swansea and Everton;Draw Man U and Chelsea). Spurs schedule is considerably easier, but Spurs could just as easily drop points against West Brom, Chelsea or even Newcastle if they are not relegated by that last game.
Think they become even more motivated to win the title without Vardy. Had a gut feeling that someone was gonna come in and nip it on the last day, and Tottenham is making quite the charge and would love to see them win (best mate is an Arsenal supporter), but I think the Foxes do it. Amazing season. Great run in this has been.
Just seems like one of those movie finishes that in real life comes crashing back to reality.
Thanks for compiling these, BMW-Baller!
Grew up a Philly fan in everything before pro teams were created down here in NC.
Having also grown up near Philly and being in NC currently... isn't it amazing how positive the fanbases are down here? The Panthers are so easy to adopt as a second team, as are the Hornets.

We've seen this before....
