Whit certainly means business.

It's kind of crazy how much is changing around Virginia Tech athletics in Babcock's short time here. He's leaving no stone unturned and this is just the latest example.

I'm aware. AZ is a much better gig than Pitt. Unless he REALLY REALLY wants to go home there's no other reason to leave. Archie is more realistic, but he has a really good gig at Dayton and will have pretty good team again next year there. He'll likely have his pick of jobs next offseason and could do better than Pitt. Money could possibly be a factor with Archie but i doubt it with Sean.

Take it with a grain of salt, but Jon Rothstein doesn't think either of them will end up at Pitt. He went on a local Pittsburgh radio station and had the following to say:

"I can tell you, by talking to somebody very close to Sean last night, that Sean feels that Pitt is a great place to visit, but barring something unforeseen...Sean Miller doesn't have interest in leaving Arizona to come back to his alma mater," Rothstein said. "So now, if you're a resident of western Pennsylvania, it's best that you turn the page from that chapter."

Rothstein also doesn't expect Archie Miller to take over the Pitt's head coaching duties.

"Archie Miller, right now, is in a situation where he has become the new Shaka Smart of the Atlantic 10," Rothstein said. "Dayton is a perennial top 25 or top 30 program. He's obviously been given certain resources at Dayton, which he's very comfortable with. So, I think Archie Miller, too, isn't a slam dunk to leave Dayton, anyway...He has a program in place to already be at the level which Pitt is trying to get to."

WAIT GUITARMAN YOU CAN'T OPEN A GLASS LIKE THAT

Mine arrived yesterday as well and it has been used five times. Heavy duty stuff.

Virginia Tech Director of Athletics Whit Babcock announced Tuesday that Dennis Wolff has been relieved of his coaching duties as head women's basketball coach. In making the announcement, Babcock indicated a national search for Wolff's replacement will begin immediately.

"I want to thank Coach Wolff for his perseverance and hard work for our university and our basketball program over the past five years," Babcock said. "We appreciate the foundation that Coach Wolff and his staff have built at Virginia Tech.

"We understand that any coaching change impacts many families and these decisions are always evaluated thoroughly," Babcock continued. "In looking at the totality of the program, I felt it was in the best long-term interest of our women's basketball program to go in a new direction. Coach Wolff and his staff have handled this transition like the professionals that they are. We will keep our team and university leadership informed of the process, however, no further comments will be made until we announce our new head coach."

Wolff recently completed his fifth season as head coach of the Hokies, compiling an 18-14 overall record (5-11 in the ACC) in 2015-16. His career record at Virginia Tech was 62-93 overall (17-65 in the ACC).

Britney Anderson, a member of the Virginia Tech women's basketball team from 2003-07, has been appointed interim head coach. She joined the Tech coaching staff as an assistant in 2015.

Total speculation here, but one would think Sean Miller will be near the top of the list whenever the UNC job opens up. Archie, on the other hand, would make a ton of sense for Pitt.

Good question.

If the views from people entering on Southgate Drive are the focal point of the renovation, my assumption would be that the main entrance (at least the signage) would be along the centerfield fence.

That could potentially mean the signage for English Field would be visible just beyond the hillside where the shrubs are shaped "VT".

Sean and Archie are both from Pittsburgh. Sean played at Pitt. He makes about as much at Arizona as Pitt was paying Dixon.

My hope was folks would cancel their recurring PayPal support and join The Key Players Club instead. However, some TKPers decided to keep their PayPal active and join The Key Players Club, others did the former because they wanted to support at more than $84 / year.

can someone post page somewhere? Google drive just opens the text file. On my computer, chrome opens the html correctly, but I don't have my ftp program at work and I'm just a lowly ME pretending he knows how to use a computer. Goes straight to the poll instead of the page. now with less scrolling!!

I will be back in town for spring game. That is the weekend of my bachelor party and it was one of the biggest requirements for the weekend as I do not get to get back to Blacksburg often. We will be tailgating starting bright and early in the morning in the Litton-Reaves lot

I saw that first design presented by KJ. English Field is going to be undergoing one hell of a major upgrade to bring it up to ACC standards, if that is the direction we're going. Our players will have the feeling of going from the outhouse to the penthouse.

I think Mr. Cornette is gonna be 0-5 on his list. The thing with Pitt is that their 3 most talented players are seniors next year and after them the cupboard is pretty bare because Dixon hadn't been recruiting very well the last few years. So basically any coach that goes there has next year to compete and then will have to do a pretty significant re-build. Certainly no reason why Buzz would leave one re-build for another in the same conference when he probably has more talent across the board at VT right now than what Pitt does. The two programs are going in different directions and he's at the place that's going in the right one.
