They made me care about the round football again.
Preliminary drawings of the new ball for next season:

I am pretty sure $-wise coaching >>> talking head.
Hey, I think a goal line backpack lining up Settle as a fullback in the backfield would scare a lot of opponents.
I'm told #Hokies officials expect to receive NIT bid Sunday. VT hasn't been to postseason since 2011, when it went 1-1 in pair of home gamesโ Mike Barber (@RTD_MikeBarber) March 11, 2016
*sigh*
...balls...
When they line up Tim Settle as a wideout, we'll know they're just screwing with us.
If Greenberg wanted a job I'm sure he could find one. He's making a mint being a talking head on ESPN. Hard to fault him for not wanting to give that up to get back into the stressful world of Div 1 NCAA coaching.
We had a ton of balls rim out last night. The basket was cursed. Who forgot to make the sacrifice to Jobo?
On little tidbit, as much as ESPN talks up Greenburg, he hasn't found a new coaching job in 5 years now.
Green tweeted out recently about watching the tourney.
Ocelot is amazing. I'm a big fan of their Space Cadet right now.
I personally prefer Maker's, but why yes - I'll take you up on some Wild Turkey!
We have to give them something to give a leaping fuck about. Seth consistently failed to do that. Buzz won't.
I wonder if the coaches just do this to keep these jokes ongoing....
I support it, but I'm just curious.
Durkin + Jeff King = Durking.
No doubt turnovers and missed layups killed us. There were several crucial moments where we could have really cut their lead and stolen momentum that ended in a missed layup or turnover.
One thing that really stood out to me (and I don't really see anyone talking about it, including Bilas last night) was how well Miami defended the 3-point line.
Yeah - this was really obvious especially compared to a week ago. Miami defense was standing on the 3 point line and didn't give much ground last night vs. last week when their outstretched arms were barely across the line.
I agree that the program is getting better but if you look at the players that Seth G had coming in and those that left because of the firing, we could have been very special that year. But we will never get the true story of what was going on behind the scenes. Too many egos, I am sure.
Take into account alot of the teams they have listed are still playing. I would also question some of their last teams in making the tournament. So far you have 13 regular season champions that have been eliminated from their conference tournaments so if they dont make the tournament, they are guaranteed spots in the NIT. You still have 19 more conference tournaments going on. Of the 12 leagues that have gone final, Chattanooga is the only regular season champion to win their tournament. If that continues and few conference tourney winners make the NCAA's than you will have very few slots left in the NIT. I think you can safely remove 6-8 of the conferences that havent finished because their regular season champs will make the tourney. That being the case, you have 11-13 conference finals that may have a big impact. If it ends up all 13 go sideways, and the already 13 eliminated also all end up in the NIT, than that is 26 of the 32 spots for the NIT gone to guaranteed spots. That could leave only the projected 1-2 seeds getting into the NIT. That also assumes other teams thought to get into the tournament dont get bumped because of the Conference Tourney winners, which would possibly remove more teams from the bubble, thereby kicking everyone else further down.
Best bet for Hokies fans is to cheer on all the regular season champions remaining so there are more open slots in the NIT.
Question: have there been any tweets/posts from former Tech players (Green, Delaney, etc) lately?
I'm sure under different circumstances he could be successful. Didn't mean for my comment to sound like I was dissing JJ. Just that despite how bad things ended up here, it seems like he landed on his feet with an asst. coaching gig with a top ranked program and great head coach to learn from.
Plus the committee just didn't(doesn't) give a leaping fuck about us.
It was chalk all across the bracket, so I think it shows that the rest you get from the bye's is very beneficial due to the long and hard ACC regular season. Next year maybe we can get that extra benefit.
The whole thing went SNAFU. Always seemed like he hit the panic button instead developing a real plan of action.

I think the final nail in the coffin for Seth was when he couldn't get a roster of senior players in Allen/Delaney/Thompson/Hudson to the NCAAs. I don't think JW was prepared to make a coaching change at that time, but that is when it should have happened.
