I actually do think the selection process does get highly political.... hear me out:
There are automatic bids...boom, you're in, easy for the committee.
Then there are obvious choices: ex. Duke, Kentucky, etc on good, but not conference championship years.
Then there are the historical reasonable picks: ex. Top 5 ACC, Big East, etc.
Once these selections are made, you have the bubble teams. I think at this point, the process becomes political. Most bubble teams, by definition have plus/minus so there's no win-win. This is the point the committee can get political... we like this conference, this team brings a larger TV market, this coach pissed us off and we'll not reward him.....
The bubble choices are the most highly analyzed and it gives the coaches/pundits nudges on what will help a team get in over the next few cycles: 'X needed a tougher schedule, Y's coach cheated (?Syracuse), etc.

I don't think it's necessarily petty, but the bubble selections are where the committee gets to 'set the tone.'

End of the UConn/Cincy game was ridiculous. If you missed it, find it and watch. 4OT's. Three quarter court shot to tie game at buzzer to force fourth OT. Just a crazy game.

...and still less fouls than Tech and Florida State.

I went to the NIT game against Baylor. It wasn't our finest hour.

Early games today that impact -
Dayton winning keeps them in line for their conference champ as reg season champ.
Michigan probably just played their way in by beating Indiana to give them their 22nd win.
Temple advanced, another reg season champ staying in it.
Florida probably popped their bubble, losing to Texas A&M. Likely ahead of us for NIT spot.
UConn and Cincinnati in OT, winner probably goes to the dance, loser ahead of us for NIT spot.
George Washington sitting on bubble with loss today and St Joes plays their way in by beating them.

Other games later:
Stephen Austin is a reg season champ that we need to win out.
Hampton another reg season champ
Providence on inside of bubble, blowout loss to Villanova could put them at risk.
Akron a reg season champ
Ohio State needs a win over Michigan State to stay on bubble. Loss puts them in NIT above us.
Alabama is a backside of the bubble team, loss to Kentucky puts them even with us for NIT very likely.
Weber State a reg season champ
Tulsa with loss pops bubble and ahead of us in NIT
New Mexico State reg season champ
San Diego State reg season champ
Davidson vs St Bonaventure, Bonnies win they go dancin, either team losing falls to NIT above us.
UGA vs USCe, Dawgs lose they are even with us NIT
Texas Southern reg season champ
Hawaii reg season champ
Loser of Idaho vs Montana is probably behind us in NI
UC Irvine wins they keep on playing for a spot in the tourney, lose and they are outside looking in behind us.

If you aren't watching the UCONN/Cincy game right now, you're missing some amazing stuff. Going into the 4th OT right now.

It's killing me just a little.

I decided to take a little time off from adult beverages, as I felt my tolerance was outgrowing the constraints of a reasonable budget.

I figure in another week or so I'll be back to nursing two drinks over a couple hours and getting the full enjoyment.

I have zero complaints about this, but I find it enjoyable that we are now just straight posting to the thread about bourbon instead of Durkin. While we're at it, this is what I have at my bar at home. Might have 1 of each tonight.

I don't care either. After staying up late two nights in a row, I have little interest in watching, even though I usually watch lol play just to root for the other team. Tonight, I still care enough that they lose, but I don't want to root for Miami actively, so I'll just skip it.

I mean... Mark Sanchez is the butt fumble. I felt it to be redundant to list out that gif.

Only because this bothers me at the moment for some reason., 12 year old bottle that sits for 8 years doesn't become a 20 year old bottle. Spirits don't age in the bottle. If you have a living cask that you use, then that's different, but in the bottle on the shelf it is, more or less, the same now as it is in 20 years.

Saying the stuff is going for $2,000 a bottle at the moment, that would be a solid reason. I deemed my wedding last year to not be enough of a reason to crack it open, so I will have to tread that lightly with the wife.

How could you miss the most famous one (wish I could find the full length gif):

And then there is this:
