At some point, though, the story has to actually reach some sort of conclusion. Continually annihilating everyone or ruining them just doesn't make sense from a narrative standpoint. A clash in the North will happen at some point, initially between men, then involving the walkers. I am absolutely sure that Jon is coming back, and my bet is that he leaves the Watch because his vow is released because he has died. What he gets himself into, I don't know, but I feel pretty certain his future is not on the Wall. I bet he also gets an "I-told-you-so" moment at some point when the walkers reveal themselves to the North.

This is most likely jumping the gun, but I want to treat this post as what it will take to get VT on the NIT bubble.

I took a look at last year's tournaments for similar candidates (P5 teams with ~.500 records) and there were 2 last year:

#4 Seed - Pitt 19-14 (8-10) RPI 77
#5 Seed - ASU 18-16 (9-9) RPI 90

VT's RPI is currently sitting at 128 and will only go up from here but it is unlikely that it reaches as high as pitt's 77 from last year. In terms of remaining wins, I think VT needs at least 4 to even be in consideration. That would put VT's record entering the ACCT at 17-14 (9-9).

The bigger issue is that we will likely be competing with some other middle of the pack ACC squads for an NIT birth:

Syracuse 18-8 (8-5) RPI 39
Pitt 18-7 (7-6) RPI 44
FSU 16-9 (6-7) RPI 52
Clemson 15-10 (8-5) RPI 89

It is unlikely that they would take more than 3 ACC teams to the NIT so we really need to root for at least 2 of these teams to make it to the big dance.

It makes sense, thus, we should not expect it. I think this feel-good story of Mel brings Jon back, Sansa reunites the North, Theon brings the Greyjoys into the fold, Bran returns as a super-warg, Arya returns as a great assassin and Ramsey and Roose are flayed all just seems way too cheery.

I'm expecting more something like Jon is saved by Mel but imprisoned by the Idiots-on-the-Wall, Ramsey got Sansa pregnant, Littlefinger talks her into returning to Winterfell to be tortured, Theon reverts back to Reek, Bran is eaten by Thenns, Arya is blind and not faceless-man-worthy and Roose is named Hand-of-the-King. And we spend the entire season with Dany being imprisoned by the horse people.

If you want to feel good, this is the wrong show.

I don't know but he reminds me of Danny Coale

Of course it's not BUD/S. They never say it is. They aren't making you into SEALs, they're just getting people into really good shape fast, which is what a lot of military training is specifically designed to do. Do you also get bent out of shape at all the fitness programs called "Boot Camp" based off of initial Marine or Army training? This just happens to be based off of what the Navy does for selecting SEALs.

I don't know. Call me old fashioned. I really don't like the "flash" of other schools unis. The Ducks make me sick. Of course, the have Nike in their backyard. (I hate Nike) Bama seems just fine with their Crimson and White. I like our Chicago Maroon and Orange motif. Leave the damn helmets alone!! Maroon with VT is like our trademark.

Who was the little white kid with maybe red hair (not Sam this kid was skinny)smoking the sprints this morning??

Is there an award for "GIF Use of the Month"? Because I've got your first nominee as well as February's winner right here.

Apparently they listened to TKP yesterday. They posted a bunch of stuff on HokiesFB twitter account this morning.

Great work everybody! Really got after it.

Oh no!! They've gotten to you already.

Are you going to get simulated drowning drills?

They also do not get drowned....on purpose at least. They do drown proofing drills which are designed to help keep you calm in water. Sometimes a guy may have a shallow water blackout but it brought back up and given air immediately and checked by a medic. But there is no "simulated drowning".

Jump into predawn 30 degree ocean water?

The pacific ocean doesn't get to 30 degrees. You'd give people hypothermia by putting them in the surf of 30 degrees for a while. The avg water temps around San Diego (where they train) is the high 50s in the winter and on up to the low 70s in the summer. Now those water temps aren't exactly warm bath water. 50 degree water is cold but it's not going to kill you as long as you watch it. I'm sure they have safety measures for putting guys in the water out there. But it's not 30 degree water temps.

I kinda wish there was a way to avoid putting a "SEAL" label on these types of things.

THEY put those things in front of them because it sells their product.

Sorry for the truther rant but I can't stand the hype around those guys. Not bad guys and great Americans though.

I think Matt Johns will be a much improved QB. A lot of Kirk Cousin's success this season was attributed to the lack of QB controversy and not having to look over his shoulder. That, plus all the first team reps.

That being said....I hope we take him to sack city

Don't forget to discretely look around for this on your first day:

I hope you also know that you will be required to kill a puppy before graduation.

Seriously, though...I'm sure this is tough and all, but it is not SEAL training. Are you going to get simulated drowning drills? Jump into predawn 30 degree ocean water? Is there a "hell week"?
Real SEALS train their last 120 hour week with a total of 3 hours sleep. We're talking about a different species here, not normal humans.

I have so much respect for the real deal, as anyone should...I kinda wish there was a way to avoid putting a "SEAL" label on these types of things.

The most impressive portion of the SEAL training is the post-military marketing course they must all take. I mean you put SEAL in front it and BOOM $$$$$....cash-cow.

But if it gets you back in shape then go for it.

I did it years ago in Richmond. I thought it was a great program and the trainers were great. It was tough, but motivating.

I'm in DC, so not Beamersville (which is a funny name but I'm partial to Charlottesburg personally).

Thanks for update though. I figured the free trial would just be that day's workout and little more. I should probably call to ask some questions myself but out of curiosity did you happen to ask if they only do early morning workouts? Or do they have workouts at other times of the day?
TIA

about as dumb as the receiver from Georgia who caught that pass near the 1 yard line in the SEC Championship game against Bama a few years ago.

My point is that it's mostly instinct and any athlete is going to have the confidence to believe they can catch the ball and take it the distance. If a DB has an easy interception deep in his own territory on 4th down I'm willing to bet that 9 times out of 10 he's going to try catching and running to score instead of batting it down to let his offense take over 20-40 yards closer to the opponents end zone.

Woman I work with won four tickets in a lottery. I don't know if its the same one or not. I assume it is.
