Shibest actually makes a lot of sense, he is one of the best special teams coaches in the country and has experience at major P5 programs. Scott though....
Yea, UF and FSU are leagues better than Miami
I'm sure they knew
I don't understand your reasoning behind Miami being the best team in Florida. FSU and UF have done a lot better than Miami since Coker left.
Well not a total expert, but have competed against Dresser's teams when he was at Grundy, but we have a way to go to really compete for an NCAA title. First of all we have to get multiple finalist, which I don't think we have ever had and more than likely win at least 3 individuals to really have a shot. Anything is possible, but I definitely think next year we have a good shot at a top 5 or so maybe higher depending on how they do this year.
I understand the concerns with him leaving right after Ladler signed to play under him, and just right after NSD in general, but there's a lot of posts in here that I don't agree with.
Yes, he's not making as much as he was last year. No it was not a pay cut. After Beamer left, he didn't have a job. Fuente offered him a job doing the same thing for a smaller amount of money and he accepted.
This is 100% Gray's decision, and I don't believe that Fuente had anything to do with the decision besides maybe asking him to wait until today and not the week before NSD.
There's a chance that this has been the plan all along since Fuente comes in, and that they already have someone else lined up. Remember that $57,000 just laying around after salaries were released that everyone was so up-in-arms about?
That being said, I liked Gray and I'm sad to see him go. It'll be interesting to see who comes in though.
But he's not wrong. Just because you are a former player does not mean you will be a good coach. The 2 don't go hand in hand.
I took a screengrab of this. Just in case.
No pressure, jp_daddi0.
Do I still get my buffet and two drink tickets? I would like to eat and drown my sorrows away...
This is going to be a hard pill to swallow
.
I don't like this idiom. Because pills are meant to make you feel better. I don't see how anything about Torrian leaving will make us better.
Who are some viable candidates to replace him, any ideas?
If this is true...thanks for what ya did. I don't think there could have been any worse way for this to happen.
I feel about as good today as I did when we lost to Wake Forest 0-0 in OT.
So you respect the program and CJF again? )))
/s standing on the ledge next to you
Not gonna lie. I snorted at that.

# | Hokies Point to Encouraging Early Enrollees on an Otherwise Dreary National Signing Day Very good point. If the new uniform release looks sweet and we turn in a good season with one of the better young up-and-coming coaches in the nation, the hype train will start rolling and the recruits come with that. The young coach and decent results will be the primary factor but the uniform release couldn't come at a better time. It is literally a new chapter in all ways.
I gotta do the same thing. See you on the other side LT_3.
Was about to post the same thing: assistant coaching salaries apparently!
Nope, Fuente sets the pay for his assistants based upon a total amount of money Whit has allocated.
Ultimately, yes, but it is standard to give wide latitude to the head coach in hiring and salary decisions.
If only there were a really good example of how wrong you are, perhaps in the title of a thread or something.
So I was just eating pizza and now I can't finish my pizza. This news has literally made me sick to my stomach. This is going to be a hard pill to swallow.
Hm.
I would imagine Whit would have final say, no?
Vomit. I'm turning the Internet off for a while. See you guys when the smoke clears.

Shibest has one of the best resumes of the new assistants, and is a position coach (TE) as well as special teams coordinator. His salary is the one I was least upset about.
