Even if we miss out on some targets this cycle, I am not going to be too bummed. Fuente had 2 months and he has done a heck of a job in that time. I am looking forward to the 2017 cycle with all the talent we have. If we can improve on the field this fall, I think recruiting will pick up some too.

BLACKSBURG โ Virginia Tech head coach Justin Fuente announced the additions of four members of his support staff on Tuesday.
Anthony Crosby joins Tech as senior director of football strength and conditioning, while Matt Transue will serve assistant director of player personnel and recruiting. Ally La Rocque will work as a recruiting assistant, while Shannon Lewis has joined the Hokies as an assistant to the head coach.
Official announcement from VT about new staff.
Tech will be live this weekend on ESPN3 against pitt. And the NCSU match will air free on their version of HokieXtra. Good chance you can see the hokies wrestle every weekend from here on out.
A lot of new rules to cover, i may go over them in another post. For example 4NF is new this year, last year it was a max of 3 NF from 5 seconds exposure. Just too much info that would overwhelm a new fan.
My Mom watching wrestling: "I just wish they would put more clothes on."
Also a good one about how higher star rankings mean more for the defensive side of the ball - http://www.sbnation.com/college-football-recruiting/2016/2/1/10867816/nc...
Wow. That's a shame.
He's probably our most highly rated OL prospect.
So where is crystal balled to go?
Good for him. Glad to see he landed on his feet.
Since it was so late last night, let me be the bearer of bad news. He ended up with Stanford.
a major reason ford flipped is because both Louisville and UF (both were above us in where he wanted to go) shot down the idea of him playing both basketball and football. frank told him he could play both that it would be his choice once football season ended, now even though that didn't work out that way it was more his choice than him being told he couldn't do it. Rick pitino and Billy D at the time were actually the ones who shot down the idea of him doing both. not the football coaches. and that played a huge roll in him ending up here. im not sure if he expected the success so early and now he is 100% focused on getting to the league so instead of hoops he is focused on the weight room and getting better. #sauces
"I got to see a side of him that I didn't think that he had," Bailey said. "With his playlist, we were listening to a couple of the new, hot rappers, and he kind of knew some of it."

His Twitter account has been taken down.
Great post. I've been trying to watch the matches whenever possible (I wish ESPN3 aired more). Looks like the ACC dual championship and National Dual invite will come down to the NCSU match next weekend. Seems like everyone is starting to get healthy and I like our chances.
Also worth mentioning that the ACC Championships are at John Paul Jones Arena in Hooville this year. The ACC is having a banner season for wrestling (I think 5 of 6 teams are ranked) so it will be an exciting tournament. I am planning on heading there from RVA - hope to see lots of Hokies!
One thing to note is that, new this year, finger clasping is worthy of a stall warning on the wrestler that initiated it. I have seen it happen where both wrestlers disengage the clasp and no warning is given. I have also seen both wrestlers receive a warning if it is unclear who initiated it.
thats right, i forgot about the Richard Sherman sweep... lost about 20 yards if memory serves. I get the point that the game is supposed to be for fun, and I certainly wouldn't want to see players get hurt in a game like this, but stuff like that really makes it a tough game to watch.
As in the bowl prep workouts were too much?
Big thread about it on 247, ranging from left before bowl prep to couldnt handle the workouts. Those workouts might cost us a couple more too.
Either way, he wouldn't be playing until he's a 4th yr Jr.
I don't see that happening.
Plus he used his redshirt this year right?
I can see it being allowed...but it's a 2 yr wait for an intra-conference transfer.
I don't see that happening.
The most interesting thing about that comment isn't the comment itself, but the team he is currently committed to. That team happens to be the team that is currently at the top off the ACC Coastal Division. Makes me think he is at least leaving UNC, but who really knows. Maybe he's just a nice guy speaking his mind about what he thinks of his new rival Head Coach.
I can't see the ACC or VT allowing a transfer to an in-division opponent.
