Yeesh good call. And I claim to be a beer snob...
Our Riley just graduated. We could use another.
Don't ask me why but I think Walz is going to do it this year. This is F'ing great.
Things getting really interesting with Dominique Ross, probably 50-50 right but he appears to be trending to the good guys.
The pro bowl is really a joke. Should really just turn it into a skills competition like they used to have in the 90's. No defense is played and most of the biggest names don't even go.
The boards will be right as rain. VT engineers are on it!
Yeah gotta agree there. Not too much that I really think are must stop when we make it back around. Mill Mountain is probably the lone exception, the rest is kind of ho hum and fine for college dinning options, but not much else.
Steps in the right direction for staff growth. Joe as someone who has more exposure to the VT program do you see the staff growing even more in the next 12 months? Or this this the size it will be until revenue picks up?
Just by his look I understand why only Ford and Phillips played this year.
I agree. We don't necessarily need to have a staff as beefy as some other places, but I think these hires put us where we need to be, its at least in the right direction.
I'll say it. Whits the best hire Virginia Tech has made since Frank.
That phrase, I don't think it means what you think it means.
"Violations" indeed.
You are lumping rules etc into one category when in fact there are two.
What's the difference between murder and breaking the speed limit? One is illegal because it reflects our morality and social norms. The other is arbritary - it didn't become moral to drive 65 mph after the feds eliminated the national 55 mph speed limit.
We have two legal concepts in play - malum en se (it's illegal because it's evil or morally wrong) vs. malum prohibitum (illegal because it's illegal, someone wanted a law).
NCAA regs are, by definition, malum prohibitum. Have nothing to do with morality, everything to do with practicality.
he kept making his game face and it got stuck.....some people make a good living that way
It will be up for the spring race. They've got 2 1/2 of the 4 huge towers up right now.
Man, Lockhart had a rough go:
Robert Lockhart, WR, 3-star: The Boca Raton product did not qualify and spent the fall of 2011 at Fork Union, then flipped his commitment to home-state Miami in the final month before signing day in 2012. He played in two games before tearing his ACL that year. He left the program the following offseason and went to Hinds Community College before committing to Nebraska in 2014. He never signed there after tearing his ACL again in junior college, ending up at Faulkner University in Alabama, an NAIA school. He was listed as a second-team All-MSC receiver in 2014.
Leg.
They've also beaten the #13 & the #15 teams this year (Iowa St & UNC) while losing very close matches to # 2 Penn St & #18 Iowa St in a second go-around.
Side note:
In the long run, when I talk about recruiting, I mean the process of identifying good talent and high character guys that we'd be proud to have in the program, making verbal, and, when appropriate, written scholarship offers to student-athletes to participate in the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University athletic program.
But when I talk about crootin', I mean stealing prospects from other schools, offering unlimited Hardee's coupons, undermining the competition, and general chicanery related to landing the best prospects we can.
I think this is understood, but I thought I'd clarify.
They've had discussions, but I'm not sure it will pan out unless each school gets a big check out of it.
1) Come on video guy learn to focus on the foreground!
2) Zohn does not look like he suffers fools
3) 60 fps...nice
I love that he's willing to take on a challenge outside his comfort zohn. I think opposing defenses next year are going to be in the danger zohn. With his talent as a recruiter, I think it'll be rare that he'll find himself in the friend zohn. I even think we'll be able to combat both man- and zohn- defenses.
Is it me or is Fuente doing the "weekend at Bernie's" pose?

I think you can add Gus in that discussion too...I think he has a great chance at 2nd, assuming he keeps improving his conditioning.
Oh, and thanks for having the only relevant comment so far.

My brother works at ETSU. He says there won't be enough people there to pay the electric bill. Lol
