Biggest problem with Stiney is what you just admitted. He was an Oline coach that was promoted to OC and even when he was OC he never coached the QBs. How do you run an Offense when you never coached or played the most important position to the entire team. Most offenses that are very successful are run by QB oriented people that at one time or another were QBs themselves.
Ever since the 90's he only takes a week and a half off for a family vacation but it is now open all Summer long. =D
At a VT-Miami home game, I accused some loudmouthed mid-30s Miami fans of being bandwagon fans and the one guy told me he was a Miami fan because his grandparents lived in Miami! That really shut me up, because its not like old people move to Florida often.

I just nearly posted about this myself. THIS was the place to get a good steak and you paid for it too. We would go hear to celebrate special events, such as graduations. Great aged steaks and cooked perfectly too. It's a shame that they closed, especially since they were the place the football team would eat the night before a home game prior to going to the Hotel Roanoke.
Dude could also hoop it up. I reffed a game that he and Kam and Tyrod were in and Harper threw down an alley-oop from Kam one handed from about the top of the backboard. My whistle would have been on the ground if it wasn't on a string around my neck. Also thought I was going to have to call an ambulance in a different game when I saw a kid preparing to take a charge from Duane Brown 1 on 1 on a outlet pass. Kid moved out of the way when his life flashed before his eyes.
Well that's good news, and it sounds like it is in the hands of some people that know what they are doing so hopefully we can see a vibrant return and the end to the discussion of best steak in the area once again.
They were supposed to re-open with new owners.

There used to be only one place worth getting a steak in the entire area.....I will forever rue the demise of the Farmhouse in Christiansburg although I did hear that the demise started much earlier than the closing earlier in 2015 so maybe I am better off with the memories. It was expensive even during my time there but was well worth it.
Back in the '70s, we had other ways to enhance our appetites, but no money to eat out unless mom and dad were visiting and took us out. Only steaks we had were venison steaks, only burgers we could afford were ten for a dollar at the local Skinny Burger (Kenney's). Still can't eat tuna casserole and even mac and cheese is still on my so-so list. Somehow, though, I remember those days fondly.

Yep, Mike's has a fantastic burger. When I lived in the area, though, Mike's would close up when the stoonts weren't in town and that kinda ticked off a lot of locals who loved it when they had the town to themselves again and went out more often especially for the less crowded/student oriented atmosphere. If there was a knock on Mike's, that was the only one I ever heard. Really good burgers, though, and likely the best in town.

I don't know, buddy. I've been using forums since usenet days in the early to mid-90's. I do sometimes sympathise a bit with weird points of views and don't let attacks, subtle or not, bother me. I suggest you work on your sleuthing skills or not be lazy and go back and read some of my posts over time and conclude something other than the long-con account. If you think I'm working with a troll, so be it. If you come to another conclusion, you can decide what you want to do then. That said, I apologise to the mods (who by the way have my actual name and could check my history at Virginia Tech, academic and athletic if they want) and anyone else for taking this thread any further from the original intent of the OP.
