My sauces say he really wanted to go to UGA but Tech offered him a full ride so he wanted to secure his spot in case UGA had no place for him at all.

Well? He wasn't. You didn't often see kids on Twitter with a living room full of VT coaches, especially Beamer, while we saw other HCs all over the place. And those were the teams getting big recruits.

I understand the call for respect for Beamer, but I don't see how stating the facts of our recruiting history is disrespectful.

They should just turn it into something like the old Superstars TV show. I distinctly remember as a kid watching someone complain about Deion Sanders' gold Prime Time medallion hitting them in the head during a basketball shooting competition. Herschel Walker would probably still win today.

I believe you have your Adonii confused. Williamson is from Indianapolis (and isn't here) and Alexander is from Charlotte.

He is from the Indianapolis area, correct? That is not that far away from Kentucky so maybe he grew up a Louisville bball fan? Either, not a cool thing to do especially when hosting visiting recruits.

See Advanced - OBPM -

Devin is about eighth or ninth on the team in this category at a -0.7, so it shows he is a liability on the offensive side of the ball, but his defense is a positive so it takes him up to a Total BPM of 1.7, that's still only seventh on the team, but if you consider his playing time and expectation to contribute, that's about right especially when you remove outliers like Johnny Hamilton having the second highest BPM on the team.

Seems tame in comparison. Pretty soon, Michigan recruiting is going to devolve into a contest to see who can make Harbaugh do the weirdest thing.

Did you read how this is calculated? Seems about as accurate as a preseason poll. Faculty average salary adjusted for the cost of living, Alumni donations, retention rate, budget per student, a survey of faculty peers, graduation rate, how hard it is to get into, all assigned values at someones discretion, and averaged. I know it is a difficult thing to quantify, and I am not saying this does not as good a job as anything at bundling the whole college experience together, but they are not really measuring $ value of education, or personal value of education. They are subjectively weighing a whole bunch of semi-related measurables until they get a result they like.

A lot of these Michigan "decommits" are kids that were borderline going to make the grades to get in apparently. I think it's unlikely that VT would be able to take them either

He's from Texas and he decommitted five days after his official to UT. I'd say he's a heavy UT lean with less than 7 days until NSD.

This much is true. I bet a lot of the new Seahawks fans, though, couldn't tell you that the team was in the AFC until 14 years ago.

I'm hoping those pieces are on the bench with foot and patellar tendon injuries. Just imagine this team with Hill and Clarke back in the rotation. Dangerous.

Last year we were at 71 and aTm was 68.
2014: Us and them at 69
2013: Us 72, them 65
2012: Us 71, aTm (still in the B12) 58

Also of note: our second-lowest ranked school (FSU) would have been tied for 5th in the SEC with Alabama. FSU would have been our absolute lowest-ranked school if we didn't bring in Louisville, who with a rank of 168 would have been dead last in the SEC.

That said, I do get a wee bit defensive about Georgia whenever their academics get attacked.

I was so thrilled to see the way we attacked the basket, especially in the first 5 minutes or so. Allen and Hudson went straight at the rim almost every one of the first 20 possessions it seemed like, and it paid off by getting us off to an early lead. Definitely had the Cardinals on their heels early on.

To play devil's advocate, maybe our interest waned recently because we need the scholarship for another player?

I could understand this if it was a kid who committed a while ago under the old regime. A lot changes in terms of recruiting priorities and whatnot when a new coach comes in. I really doubt that our coaches went from "hey, we'd really like you to make your private commitment public" to "maybe we should see other people" in 2 weeks.

What kills me is that he's not even going to a school that's willing to go all in and offer a scholarship. That's harsh. That's like a chick turning down an marriage proposal because she wants to go on a date with another guy who's going to make her pay for her meal and ditch her halfway through the evening if he sees someone hotter at the bar.
