Outlaw is taking a redshirt for this year for an undisclosed medical condition. I expect Hill will redshirt as well, because we seem to playing well enough without him, and he can take the extra year of eligibility.

I think our next game against Notre Dame will give us a good idea of how legit this team is at being more competitive in the conference (upper half of the ACC is my definition of that)

It will be an away game against Notre Dame, which is a team coming off a good road win at Duke. Watching the Irish today, they have quite a few playmakers. If Buzzketball can step up to the task and somehow pull off the upset, that game against UNC is going to be higher stakes than a lot of us would have imagined.

I asked on the other thread but I'll ask here as well. Does anyone have any information regarding Hill or Outlaw? I know Hill was released to practice a couple of weeks ago but haven't heard any news since then. Also, great win today. Hopefully we can keep it rolling.

This team is going to be so good with some more experience. You can already see the talent there and they are gaining confidence by the game. Just throw some experience on that and they'll be very tough to beat.

This might be the best win of the year so far. The win over UVA was impressive, but this was on the road, while not playing well early, against an ACC team.

If this keeps up I won't even have to get opening day tickets for the ACC tournament!

I find it so ironic that we win close games now that we have a coach that stresses the importance of the little things (such as free throws) instead of losing close games under a coach (Greenberg) whose players were always atrocious from the free throw line (except Delaney). Free throws can be fixed if you want to fix them (unlike shaq) - you have to have the willingness to shoot thousands of repetitive free throws day after day, night after night....and you have to have leadership to stress this importance.

As we all know all close games are primarily won or lost on the free throw line.

I'm glad our tides our changing on the line and its resulting in victories.

Props to Buzz on creating a winning atmosphere and Whit for having a great vision.

Let's keep it up Hokies! Can't wait til Buzz gets basketball on the national scene right up there with Fuente and football.

Bright days ahead for us Hokies!!

I know it doesn't necessarily mean anything, but I've just noticed he's been more hyped over Tennessee lately, even before his visit there. He now has the picture of him and Bob Shoop pinned to his Twitter account. Hopefully he'll enjoy his time at VT next week.

Read an article today in the Richmond Times about this. Buzz said something along the lines of that as long as he's been coaching, he hasn't ever been involved with a player transferring to another in conference team and not having to sit out a year. Still didn't disrespect Smith at all. Seemed if he was rankled, it was with the transfer rules more than anything else. Sorry, recycled the paper today already or I'd give detailed info, but it was a feature article in the Sports section.
