Side note, just finished watching the NC State game. Our guys have been blocking shots like crazy the last few games.
The day before Whit announced that VT was hiring Buzz Williams, a good friend of mine who is quite well connected in the b-ball world, called me up and said you will love your next coach Buzz Williams. He told me that Buzz was more than just an X's and O's guys and he can really build a program. He said I guarantee you guys will be in the tournament in three years. I have to say, I like what I see and the way that the building process is going even with all the injury set backs. I really hope Buzz likes living in a town like Mayberry and stays a long while.
How tall is Louisville's freshmen QB? He looked as dynamic as anyone I saw playing in the bowl season, but I don't remember thinking he was a "prototypical" size for a QB either.
I agree that Rey has more raw power than Luke did at this stage, but remember that he also had to be reminded to "use the Force" all the time. I liked how most of the things she did were learned by watching Kylo Ren do it first. Kind of a "ooh, let me try doing that" attitude that someone with lots of talent but no training would probably have.
Hmm, interesting point. While I agree that it definitely wasn't peacekeeping or protecting the republic, there is still a difference between rescuing a friend and being out for revenge. Plus he did try to attempt the rescue through non-violent means first and only whipped out the hack'n'slash afterward instead of jumping immediately into rage murderdeathkill. But I agree with your larger point, it wasn't the old-school Jedi type of mentality.

I was finally able to make it through this game on WatchEspn, although it took about twice as long as necessary (worst experience ever...note to self, don't forget to set the DVR, and don't try to fast forward/rewind WatchESPN).
Good work by the team and the fans were loud despite the empty seats at the top. Couple of observations/questions from a casual BB fan:
1. It seemed there were several (many) scoring plays where the UVA defenders seemed to freeze for a split second while the ball handler just went around them. Was it just me?
2. Are we still being fouled at a very high rate over the last few games? (we were close to #1 in trips to the line a couple weeks ago)
3. How does the out-of-bounds line work? Is the paint in or out? Is it the first paint or the second paint? I imagine if you can see a shoe in the un-painted portion it's considered out?
I'm still finding it hard to believe that Obi Wan would leave the ways of the force to have children. I'd buy a relation of some sort (grand-niece or something like that), but thats it.

I know things are cyclical, but I remember one of our MD23-era teams finishing 4th in regular season play and not getting in (5th place Miami got in, right after we beat them in the ACC tourney, I think). That season was a head scratcher for me (of course many of our bubble seasons were).

Kyshoen is ranked 5th on the team in tackles (solo & assisted) and only has a cap hit of about $558k next season. Easily affordable if RG3 is dumped off.

I did too but it didn't register until you pointed it out. I was like "ha ha, that's funny...[scrolls up]...oh...yeah, I did that too."
Did not watch either game. I just happened to be on swing shift this week and didn't get NYE off, but was fortunate to get NYD off so I could have watched then. Thinking about it, this was just luck of the draw for me, but even on a normal schedule, I'd likely would have been working for part or all of the Clemson game.
I would say besides NYE plans, the large # of TKP readers probably had more invested in the Clemson game/Orange Bowl than they do Alabama or MSU (or the resurrected Cotton Bowl), being ACC and closer to "home" for many.
Bill Hancock was also on satellite; it seems every interview he wants to blame the "lack of competitiveness" of the games. I wonder what metric do they use to determine viewers then, since we have no idea how competitive they are until they're played? Does everyone check the score before they turn on the television?
I imagine they're both wearing the same expression...except the other guy has his eyes closed and minus the "what's going on here" secondary look.
