There were two specific calls I thought were poor decisions/no-calls by the refs: the obvious charge they instead called a block on LeDay, and then a no-call when Perrantes was losing control and took out LeDay at the knees that resulted in a layup.
Otherwise, I thought the refs were pretty good for the most part and that was a top notch officiating crew. While there were a few instances where it looked like a UVA player was out of control, most of the time we bailed them out by trying to swat a shot that was getting forced anyway and ended up hacking.
Obviously, I was ok with the no-call at the very end since it went in our favor. But even if it the roles were reversed, I'd be fine with a no-call there. Refs will eat their whistle about 90% of the time on plays like that, whether it's right or not... you can't expect them to bail you out in the final seconds of a game.
I'll be honest with you, I never understood it either. I was just being jovial about it.
It is an interesting question about what they meant by "balance" to the force. Maybe someone with more knowledge of the fan fiction could elaborate....?
.500 in the ACC would at least get our name thrown around during bubble talk at the end of the year. I still wouldn't expect to get in because of our bad OOC losses, but I don't care. It would still be a successful season in my book.

Wrong. This is a dude with a paying job to report sports news. Not bitch about how life is unfair for his other sports writer buddies. Look at some of the comments above (not exhaustive, just what I pulled in last 3 mins)
Bitter seems to think Buzz is obligated to him and the media first and foremost.
Bitter seems to think because Buzz is paid he needs to honor that according to their schedule, but doesn't allow that they also get paid to do a job which is to report on sports no matter how long it takes.
Bitter seems to think Buzz is routinely unprofessional to media because he puts the team and not the media first.
He wasn't there. He isn't reporting on it, yet he STILL has the need to call Buzz a "jerk" without "professional courtesy" and stating many times that because he is paid to do the job he is beholding to the media. Everything about that is wrong. This is not how you report sports news. Nor is it how someone with an audience looking for sports news should be treating their professional relationship with the school they are paid to cover. If it is then why in the hell should Buzz offer any professional courtesy to them? This is not some dude supporting his buddies. This is a guy with a paid job with a professional relationship with the school taking potshots at one of it's coaches in an unprofessional manner.
Can we get a summary of what happened with Bitter this past fall, I wasn't around for that.
I probably would have turned the Cotton Bowl off if it wasn't New Year's Eve. As it was, there weren't any other good options to wait until midnight. I definitely stopped caring once I realized that there was no way Michigan State was going to even score.
Wait I caught the "that only happens in movies tweet" but damn where was the other one it would change my perception of the incident if he did say things to that effect.
But even with the movies tweet he even replys that it was a good point about timing, but with theoreticals we honestly cannot know since nobody was in the room what options existed, and pointing out possible alternatives shoudlnt be enough to skewer a guy over.
That's my guess. Unless we offered Dorcht and he committed on the spot, I don't know that anyone else was primed.
I think some soured after the whole "conflict of interest" thing about opposing team interviews back in the Fall.
But yeah if saying it wasnt really cool how his co workers had post game, and posing theoreticals about how to handle stuff is enough to turn against, I mean come on.
That smacks of Buzz mentioning he liked talking to Laaser and such because they had to like Tech isnt the solution. There is a very good reason you dont want press coverage by nothing but fans, group think is very real, and we need outside voices even when they say things we dont like about either the team or raise questions about if the program is run as well as it could be. Just like you shoudlt only watch one news show or read one papaer, you shouldnt get your sports coverage from one source, now that TKP has its credentials its a perfect leg because now everybody had direct access first hand, and its good to see how different sources draw different or the same conclusions.
I know that's the common interpretation, but I've always had a problem with it. By that logic, Anakin was bringing balance to the number of Jedi vs Sith. He was bringing balance to the Force users, not the Force. The Force was still there, both light and dark, just as it had always been.
I really dislike that Lucas brought a prophecy into it in the first place. For one thing, it's a little too Harry Potter for me. For another, we get one line about a prophecy, and that's it. We don't know if the prophecy actually said there would be a person who "will bring balance to the Force," or if Windu was just paraphrasing a common interpretation of the prophecy. We also don't know how the Force was "out of balance."
When I hear "bring balance to the force," it seems like it would stand to reason that it would mean abandoning the entire light side vs dark side dichotomy and trying to realize that the problems arise when a person clings too tightly to one side and tries to entirely forsake the other. The Jedi were too Vulcan and the Sith were too emo. If there could be a third path that understands that anger, fear and aggression are natural impulses, and rather than be shunned they should be conquered, so they can be used as tools rather than allowing them to dominate you, that would be what I'd consider "bringing balance to the Force."
Yeah... their basketball team just lost to someone who lost to Alabama State, so they are going to grasp at whatever they can.
But think about it... we have current bragging rights over them in everything that they consider matters. Football? They just hired Bronco Mendenhall, so good for them, right? 12 in a row and we just secured what pretty much everyone considers the best hire of the offseason. Boom. They won it all in baseball, right, so that's great! Yeah, we swept their asses last year. Facial. But they have a great basketball team, and just climbed into the Top 4. Yeah, only to fall to us a couple hours later.

Bitter doesn't even cover basketball.
But when Buzz didn't show for his postgame for 1:45 after the WVU game, the local media got all bent and Bitter chimed in that Buzz was the only coach in the country who did this and that postgame speeches don't turn around seasons.
Considering that Bitter was snarky about non-traditional media this football season and his fallout with TKP regarding opposing media interviews, you can see why the relationship has soured.

Plus, how often are you driving cross-country? For most of us, the answer is never, but even if that did happen, you could rent a car.
The cost savings is not having to do anything but rotate your tires. I believe Tesla guarantees their batteries for 10 years, and I believe the technology will continue to improve where they aren't so expensive to replace.
But to each his/her own. I got to drive a Tesla Model S a few years ago for a news segment and I've been a fan ever since. I bet the BMWs are nice too - haven't had the chance to drive one of those.

Win your home games, that's that building block in conferences like the ACC. If you keep a competitive non-conference schedule, i'll bet you only need to be .500 in the ACC to be considered for the dance.
2-0 at home is a good start. You just need a few road wins to be in the top flight of the conference.
All that being said, we have a pretty tough home schedule.

And I covered Bitter in reply to you above. my issue with Bitter is how he sees him and the media entitled to something before the team. They are not. He is not. They are afforded the opportunity to be in the press room and report on VT sports. That's what the press pass does. The press pass does not make the coach obligated to you in any way whatsoever.
