I think there was one in the 2014 UVA game. IIRC it was on a kickoff or punt and got overturned after being called targeting.
I dunno. Their late surge in the 4th looked like they had gas left in the tank.
I'm with you on 95% here. Absolutely, we and other programs have instructed our defense that if you are at all tweaked, you go down to signal you need to come out. Honestly, that's the safest way to do it. Prevents turning a tweak into an injury, and prevents risk of penalty.
I don't think there's a signal from sideline to go down. If we had great depth, then yes. But we just don't have the horses in the defensive backfield to fake an injury to a healthy player just to buy a few more seconds between snaps. We want our starters on the field because the drop off behind them is pretty steep.
Maybe Stroman's shoe just came off and he didn't have time to get it back on...

Law enforcement yes, emergency mangament no. That's why I'm having to go back to college, despite having years in the public safety field, jobs as an emergency management employee require degrees, usually a masters in that field.
BOOM.
Kid seems smart and well spoken, and appears to be fulfilling a life long dream. But I have never heard anyone call College Park their 'dream school,' and I spent my entire childhood in MD.
Are those career fields that one can't do with, you know, ANY degree if you took a few relevant subject matter classes?
As an aside why doesn't VT have a criminal justice related degree field? Or an emergency management/ homeland security one?
I think it was "the movement".
No that can't be right, it's only because of Frank Beamers age, Shane Beamers bad recruiting that he didn't commit to Tech!
That's too bad, but it's his career and his school choice.
I'm sure he'll do fine.
Sounds like a level headed kid that knows what he wants in life. Best of luck to him.

Pitt has made it a game, again, off offensive and defensive TDs within 12 seconds of each other
Umm I don't think a 4th round pick has that kind of guarantee anymore.
This is embarrassing and satisfying at the same time. I hate having to play them every year.
No. If he goes Pro and gets hurt he still gets some money even a fourth round pick will probably make 500k signing bonus, if he stays here and gets hurt he gets no money. Insurance against draft stock rarely pays out. I don't disagree that Bucky should come back and potentially be a first to second round pick, but even going now he could make a lot of money.
Well shit.
That clip is pretty damning, and I fully retract my previous opinion. He was obviously locked on to his target and launched directly at his head.
What a dick.
And he's barely out-athleting guys college guys right now as it is.
A good friend of mine went to Pitt, and according to him everyone has been dreading this game because of their inability to effectively stop a triple option.
And ACC record can suck it, I need a Navy win for my bracket. haha
"13" is O'Dell Beckem a WR.
He could get hurt and would never play again on the practice squad, and they could cut him before he has a chance to start collecting paychecks.
We can play the what if game all day, but the fact of the matter is, he has more to gain by coming back than he does by going pro.
Wow, this is the first time I've seen this, I didn't watch the game or see highlights... that is about as bad of a cheap shot as I've ever seen

My dad and I actually started talking to some folks at the state level, trying to come up with a program to work with the VTCC to take advantage of the Corps-only cadets and give them a police/public safety/homeland security option. It would also benefit the Virginia State Police academy and other local police academies. (In sports terms, it would give them a "minor league" or "prep school" of sorts.)
Unfortunately, everyone got immediately hung up on who was going to pay for it.
