Oops...going to have to apologize to the Hokies attending my wedding that day...
Also, 3 of my groomsmen are Hokies...might have to hook them up with Hardee's coups to make sure they show up.
He lacks something in lateral movement. More than once he looked like he was in position but couldn't slide to the proper gap. Instead he just took a step forward and maybe kind of in the direction of the ball carrier and got immediately absorbed by blockers.
UVA has a football team?
Shegog looks like a beast at whip. Hopefully he has the cover skills of a nickel back, so we don't have to keep switching back and forth between whip and nickel.
I like Edmunds at backer, but don't see any answers at Mike. I think we sink or swim with Motu.
Yeah, I was trying to avoid singling anyone out, but I agree with this. Mike has been a huge weakness for us this year. When Motu is in position, he will make the play more times than not. His problem is that he's rarely in position, and his incorrect guesses are allowing huge plays time and time again.
He's supposedly still taking an OV to VT
Edmunds is promising at backer. Shegog got better at whip as the season progressed. And then there is Motu. He's a bit of an enigma. He generated a bunch of turnovers and game changing plays, but was overwhelmed physically and mentally many times over. He, or another Mike, needs to step up for Foster.
247 is still saying Tino will take an OV FWIW.
Big if
Something like this could explain the lack of a football program at LOLUVa, too.
The fact they played so poorly that we have to clarify that they're not always the reason for a broken down play is telling. And don't think I am saying they weren't trying or weren't giving their all. They were. I just don't think they were that good.
It wasn't all that bad, as French has pointed out in past film reviews and will in this one the LB's are not always to blame for what happens.
Maybe he should pay attention to the media, though:
"4-star QB Dwayne Haskins still committed to Maryland but considering all his options"
Four-star Maryland quarterback commit Dwayne Haskins confirmed Monday he hasn't backed off his verbal committment to the Terps, but he's in "equal contact" with a handful of other schools.
I will say this, I am not going to miss our LB play from this past season. If ever there was a position where I would be ok with 2 or 3 JUCO transfers to help us out... its there.
she's a therapist

I can't see it any other way now.
Can somebody post links to the Memphis games?
20 days until Classes start at VT (early enrollees)
36 days to national signing day
115 days to the spring game
248 days until the first game of the Fuente era
Great piece, the point that stuck out to me was:
I'm going to miss writing about Hokies football on a weekly basis and reading what everyone has to say about each game. I am continuously fascinated by how a game can bring together so many strangers over a shared passion and school spirit.
That's a great point, I don't think I have seen it stated so well before. It is fascinating.
That would probably be better plus its only 25 or 26 games, which would get him to next season counting spring and fall camps
Underclassmen who declare without a quality grade from the board don't have great success at the draft.
Really the last two years. Fuente's first two at Memphis where not great, he did not have the recruits where he wanted then. The last two would give you a better idea of what he wants to do.
Might I suggest watching Memphis football games from the last four years, getting familiar with the new offensive philosophy, then envisioning our offense doing what you watch
The Draft Board will only say if a player will go in the 1st or 2nd round, otherwise its stay in school. Bucky could still possible go in the late round.
It was a hell of a good run, Beamer. You helped give me good cause to defy family tradition, and go to VT. You helped us so much with the healing, in the wake of that outrage in April 2007. We love you, Coach Frank Beamer!

I think priority #1 this year is to get a JUCO in here to take over Mike responsibilities while Motu gets ready for it.
This isn't saying he is bad. Josh Norman needed 3 years of training before he was ready to be a NFL corner and once he was ready, he showed he's one of the best in the game. Motu has talent, and it showed against GT, he's just not ready for this level of the game, yet.
