The Fifth Fuller must be beside himself right now

I seriously doubt Hodges will be in the NFL next season. No way he is any better than a 4th round pick this year, and his draft stock would only go up with more experience / development.

Last I checked, general perception doesn't matter - it's the selection committee's perception that does.

On top of that a 12-1 ECU team would certainly be ranked in the top 20 of the AP & coaches polls, and a win over a ranked opponent is certainly a quality win. (ranked 2015 AAC teams: Houston #18 @ 12-1, Navy #21 @ 10-2, Temple #24 @ 10-3).

Losing to the majority of P5 teams would probably knock us out of playoff contention too, just like what happened UNC when they lost to an SEC team. Any loss to a non-top 10 opponent would knock us out, and maybe even a top5 loss would too. So the argument that losing to ECU would somehow be more terrible doesn't really hold up. If we have a team worthy of making the playoffs, we'll demonstrate it by beating even a good ECU team so I don't see the problem here.

I'm hoping that the Battle of Bristol goes over so well that Tennessee replaces ECU as our "out of conference rival"

Thank you for sharing! Coleman Collins is a talented and insightful writer. I need to read his articles more often. Reading his articles makes me just as proud that he has come from Virginia Tech as his contributions to our basketball program (if not more so). I still read his article about 4/16 on that day every year.

C'mon man, you can't be serious here.

There are endless stories of 'workout warriors' who blow everyone away at the combine but can't play for shit.

And plenty of guys who don't have the impressive stats who are excellent players.

4.6/40 isn't really "lightning quick" though... and his vertical isn't exactly jumping out of the roof (which is somewhat of a gauge of explosiveness)

Heck, by those stats, I should have been a 4 star recruit in high school...

Because Fuente does his own evaluations. If he thinks the kid is good I have no reason not to believe him at this point. Plus, if he wants to play big boy college football, and we're his only P5 offer not named Iowa State or Indiana, then we're pretty much guaranteed the commit.

Well we were all comparing him to Glennon, which makes almost anyone look mobile. I had to dig for a while, but I found a good gif of Glennon scampering out of trouble:

To be fair, we were also comparing Glennon to Tyrod, which made him look decidedly less mobile...
