I completely agree. People often have expectations of Freshman QBs that are not founded in reality. But Loeffler wasn't speaking in terms of the beginning of the year. When he spoke about it sounds like it is still an ongoing climb for Lawson, which is fine and to be expected of almost all Freshmen. There will be an adjustment for all involved because no one has a spread offense background but you gotta figure Evans with some college experience, be it at the JUCO level, might pick up the playbook quicker and would be seeing the field more.

I think as hokies (and UVA haters) we underestimate the UVA desire to win. I think the UVA mold will be "wins without cheating and minimizes off-field issues". If Bronco does that, then the hoos will be happy.

The Ruff Bronco combo is promising for their program. I don't consider it to be a splash hire, but its way better than I expected for them.

That being said, I still hope for their continued failures on the field, best personified by:

Glad we retained Burden. He's got his work cut out for him, the 757 is stacked for next recruiting cycle.

State Rankings:
1. Laborn, RB, Ocean Lakes
2. Hunter, QB, Indian River
3. Crosby, DT, Ocean Lakes
4. Gaddy, DT, Bishop Sullivan Catholic, VB
5. Ewell, DT, Lake Taylor
11. Capehart, WR, Ocean Lakes
14. Conliffe, DE, Hampton
17. Mitchell, QB, Oscar Smith

Also a lot of good players in the Fredericksburg area, interested to see who we put there.

If you flip through that list, it's shocking to see how well Duke and FSU are doing in Virginia.

I really don't understand all the hate for Allen. He hasn't played as well as he was hyped during preseason and has made some questionable decisions here and there like the rest of the team, but he is still a team player in my mind.

I don't remember seeing him drive and shoot on multiple defenders against Lamar, but I do remember seeing him drive and kick-out to a 3 point shooter on at least 1 occasion. He also led the team with 7 assists (rest of the team had 11 combined) after coming off the bench.

This will be telling. How many, if any, of Mendenhall's staff will follow him from BYU? Moving from a G5-gone-independent to a P5 program should be a no-braining. If Mendenhall doesn't bring a bunch of his own guys over, it tell you what his relationship to the program had become.

The more I think on this, the more it seems likely there is some false context along with reading too much into the situation and quotes. I think we as a fan base were frustrated with what we were seeing and Shane didn't help with the things he said publicly.

Leg for you and Fireman below for pointing out the Furman game. Could be said that Furman was a good chance to have a live try out to set the depth chart in a post Ohio State, Brewerless season.

Well, at least this process didn't blow up in their face

Who had ECU as the first school who would drown in the coaching carousel of 2015?

Again my bad getting people riled up but I had thought the giveaway would be

this new "fuente" fella.

Also I wouldn't consider it "stealing" recruits in the literal sense as it is their choice. And in the case of VT it would be liberating them from their bad choice and offering them a way out with the bonus of basking in eternal glory.

Till Bronco pissed all UVA fans and donors off and is pushed out the door in two year because he doesn't fit the UVA mold

For freshwater fishing, downstream of the Conowingo Dam on the Susquahanna, is good but probably not in the winter,
However, the outflows from Peach Bottom Power Station is very good. the water reentering is a couple degrees warmer than the river due to the holding ponds being shallow.

The divers going over to clean off the screens insist on having diving cages in the water so they can escape the large fish getting curious. When I was young I worked a couple times assisting these guys and acting as a safety watch. They tell stories about fish that you wonder if you are pulling your leg. I have had a diver I was assisting coming flying out of the water once and insisting on taking a break before going back down to give a large fish the chance to go away.

I hate to say it, but UVA is putting together a decent coaching staff.....

A lot of the schoolies we've been catching have sea lice on them even though we're catching them in the Rappahannock.

Good advice. Add flounder to the bag that the jig head and Gulp! combo will produce. I have caught more flounder on that rig than on anything else I've used in a lifetime of fishing.

At a certain point scholarship numbers say there is a limit to how many QB's you can have on a roster and still field quality backups and get young guys into the system for the future

Ahh yes, but that's why the TE position exists

Redfish and striped bass will definitely stay on hot water discharges all winter long.

I'm a fly fishing guide based out of Richmond and I saltwater fish all the time in the Bay and OBX. I have never fished off of a paddleboard but do own four kayaks that I take clients out on fresh and saltwater fishing. My personal kayak I can stand in so it's basically the same thing as a stand up paddleboard.

Fly fishing saltwater isn't difficult, if you can do light spin fishing you can fly fish it. A saltwater 8 weight set up is standard and depending on depth of water a floating or intermediate sinking line is necessary. For flies, it can be as simple as a chartreuse and white clouser minnow. Feel free to email me at knotthereelworld@gmail.com and I'd be more than happy to answer any questions you have or provide any advice.

Fish below was caught last summer while I was standing in my yak.
