Reading this has me feeling it's 1 of two things either
1. Lawson's doesn't have the grasp to take over a college level program like 99% of true freshman or
2. Needs to pick up the 'mental' side is coach talk for this kid has some character issues and needs to take things more serious.
I really hope it's not 2 but there have been a lot of signs pointing in that direction...his hs coach being brought in to the program, the rumors about his redshirt ultimatum, his bad attitude on the sideline, rumored spats in coaches doghouses...
I don't want to read the writing on the wall so I try to just ignore them. I just hope it's 1.
Seems to be beside the point, he showed he could handle a snap, which is all that was needed in the instance where Motleys helmet came off
Durkin was such a good QB he got moved to TE
Can't takeout the crossover because of FSU and Miami.
There is an argument to be made that we screwed up with Tyrod too. If we had redshirted Tyrod we might have a national championship his redshirt senior season. Think of all the weapons we had, David Wilson, Boykin, Coale. I think we best Clemson with Tyrod.
Just a thought. (Though that season we almost backdoored our way into the championship)
Toxic isn't always bad

You were on Fallon mowing your yard?

Sssshhhhhhhh. Hush now.
He was a solid #2 on my list but with each passing day I find myself wondering why the heck I didn't have him at solid #1. Lets just say that I'm really glad Whit is our AD instead of me. I think you all should be thankful for that.
As a Titans fan who listened to Chris Johnson (CJ2K) "guarantee" a 2,500 yard season the season after he reached 2,000 -- only to then flop like a pancake -- I see this as the kiss of death.
Hope not.
I don't think it's unlikely either. With a huge question mark at QB and Fuente's proven track record of molding his offense to the strength of his players I foresee a lot of running plays next season. With the experience we'll have up front I have confidence that McMillian will get plenty of opportunities to pile on the yards in 2016.
Me too and as I stated before the hire he was way down on my wish list. I have a great feeling about him and am def 100% supportive of him.
I'm sorry about a slow response to your original question. I have no idea why he either was or wasn't involved with VT's athletic dept. I remember reading bios or watching interviews were he was said to have tried to walk on the foitball team 3 times, but did not make it. He said that he had no hard feelings.
Why is everyone so okay with Shane going to ECU? They just fired their head coach/alumni for one mediocre season. Feels like a toxic situation to me. I want better than that for Shane.
Shame Beamer huh? He'll get after ya...with shame.
I watched it for a bit. The award that went to the former serviceman who served in Afghanistan was very touching. It was sad to see him stand up there holding back tears acknowledging that his company had lost another member of their unit just last night due to suicide. I'm glad he has been able to cope with some of his PTSD through football.
I have brought beer and liquer back and forth from the US and Russia a number of times amd I have never had a problem. I always put the bottles in zip lock bags and then wrap them in clothes.
You misspelled Sam Rogers
Of course, in Vick's case, the Lightning remained in the bottle in year one
What about Durkin? Especially for the plays where Motley's helmet came off
I hate that pirate. I really hate that pirate.
Durkin was also an option
In all honesty I'll be happy if we can keep TG for at least this one year to help with player/recruiting continuity. As far as anOSU goes that would be a great career move/resume builder but I have to imagine that if he were offered by them anytime soon it would be to stay a DB's coach.

I have started watching Memphis games. They run almost exactly the same plays we do. The difference? Their O-Line can block. I even saw an interview with Coach Fuente touting their new screen pass. I know the term "scheme" has been very popular in complaints about the offense. If you look at our "scheme" we're basically running a spread offense and not calling it that. No scheme works if your QB is constantly under pressure and your running backs get hit in the backfield. Memphis runs jet sweeps, outs, crossings. It looks incredibly similar. I know Loeffler was the bogeyman du jour, but don't underestimate Coach Beamer's influence on not only the offense but also the offensive staff.
