Last 2 times we were a favorite of over a TD vs an FBS team...East Carolina this year and Wake Forest last year.

Its his team. He is the Head Coach. If that's how he wants to handle I have no problem with it. Fact of the matter is it did cost them a TD. It was a bone headed decision that could have cost them the game. If he wants to chew him out excessively then that's his prerogative. Just as the punter can hit the highway if he doesn't like it. Welcome to America.
I spoke on this during the game. I don't mind the sideline berating. Was it excessive? I don't know. Who could honestly say. From my very limited perspective it seemed to work via that delayed punt in the second half to eat up more time off the clock. The punter appeared to have learned his lesson AND (what's more) Dabo appeared to have verbally rewarded him for his correct and savvy execution. To me, a HC berating a screw up on the sideline is part of the HC thing (unless it gets to forbidden subjects: race, religion, sex, family and whatnot).
The under bus throwing with the interview going into HT was, in fact, a douche*tard move. I did not view that as really accomplishing or correcting anything. In my estimation, Dabo should've made up for it by saying something positive about his punter's 2nd half performance upon the conclusion of the game during the on field interview. But again, that's just me.

We've done great with 3* kids in the past, but when you don't do that for two years, the team is in a world of hurt for 4 seasons. Most of the starters right now are freshmen and sophomores (or transfers) playing over juniors/seniors, illustrating how poorly those recruiting classes went.

I'll just pick a big picture issue - the wild inconsistency in each unit over the course of the season. Perhaps the defense eventually stabilized but they had wild swings throughout. The offense was week to week, and even by the end was making the same execution mistakes we saw early on. Attribute both to coaching and players, plenty of responsibility to go around.

Sticking with Stroman as the PR guy all year. I know he looked better in the last couple of games and has good PR abilities, but he looked really bad to me for the first 2/3ish of the season, fair catching balls inside the 10 and catching balls then running backwards.

And, for all we know, that punter is just like Cody Journell and he needed to be publicly humiliated to the nth degree to get the point across. Maybe Dabo did exactly what he needed to do to send the message to his punter. We don't really know. (I doubt that though; I still think bringing it up during the interview was unnecessary)
Yeah I think he's trying to make it obvious to the viewing public that the punter made that decision and not him. But if you give the punter that option then you in effect have made that decision as well. To me it's asinine to tell the punter hey you can run if you see an opening because I'm not really sure how the punter is supposed to judge that and he's a punter not a skilled athlete like a RB or WR
I actually replied to that exact point. I said that I think most Hokie fans (myself included was implied) wouldn't be too upset if FSU was picked with similar circumstances because we would realize context matters. Win total is completely relative to a lot of other factors.

For me, it was the repeated jet sweep handoffs from the shotgun AND the insistence from Shane to attempt to get Coleman & Edmunds into a rhythm (which, unfortunately, they did not). I felt by the 3rd/4th game we needed to ride the hot hand (McMillan) the rest of the way.
